Let me introduce myself for those who do not know me.

I am Bruce, a timeshare addict who came down with this disease in 1999.

I do not claim to be a expert or have all of the answers for Christmas Mountain Village (CMV). But if there is a question that I am not sure of giving the correct answer to, I am sure I will know were to find the correct answer from other experienced CMV owners.

I personally know a number of others who are very knowable about CMV and hopefully they with share their knowledge on this forum.

The Wisconsin Dells area has so many different things to do that a week is not long enough if you have varied interests and want varied experiences. I think you will be pleasantly surprised at the number varied things available to do in the Dells and at the resort.

    A personal little history.

Seeing that I have been a resident of Wisconsin for all of my life we have been to almost all parts of the state doing things like camping, fishing, snowmobiling, ect we know fair amount of areas and may be able to point you to various websites.

I also know that here are a number of others who are very knowable about CMV and hopefully they with share their knowledge on this forum.

I just turned 64 on October 27, that is the same birthday date that Big Frank posted about the CMVer’s birthday on this website. But Big Frank did not post about mine birthday for some unknown reason. that only Frank knows about. Frank is that @&**%%^ reason you called last night?

I had the pleasure of meeting the CMVer at a the CMV HOA meetings a few years ago. In fact the CMVer has owned at CMV longer than I have and look at him as a early mentor. He is a very nice person.

I met Big Frank at our St Croix dump several years ago when we shared accommodations for 3 or 4 days without our DW’s.
Frank has the pictures of that trip posted on this site in case you may be interested.

As I said before I am a timeshare addict who came down with this disease in 1999 after doing my first tour in Las Vegas. I figured out that there must be timeshare resales before (not) buying from a developer.

Maybe the main reason why Frank asked to try and help that in addition to to my great typing and spelling ability and my handsome looks is that we have currently play with about 100 CMV weeks a year.

The first CMV ownership we bought was a 2 bedroom Cabin number C204 week 1 in 1999. While we were using the summer week at RCI that we got in exchange from RCI.in 2000 I was talking to a nice older gentleman by the pool when I learned a little bit about CMV.

I first had noticed his RCI catalog and seeing we had still not received ours I asked if I could see his. At that time he mentioned that they wanted him to trade in his CMV Cottage UDI for some Bluegreen Points. He said that he was not going to do the trade in and explained his reasons.

I do not remember his name but I do remember that he lived in Muskego, Wi. Which is about 20 miles away from us.

To try and keep the rest of this brief as possible, this timeshare addict since 1999 has owned 49 different ownerships and has sold 20 of them so we only have 29 timeshare ownerships at present.

In regards to what Boca (Jim) and GrayFal (Pat) were alluding to in regards to their posts.

We have had a total of 21 CMV ownerships, which one was that first Cabin we had for less than a year and another is a summer 2 bedroom Villa that we still have at present. The others were 7 CMV UDI Oak Timbers and 12 CMV UDI Cottages. We presently own the 7 UDI Oak Timbers, 4 UDI Cottages and the Summer Villa. We also have 39,000 yearly Bluegreen Points that we mostly use at CMV.

CMV is fairly unique that CMV currently has 8 different main types of two bedroom units that vary from about 650 SF to about 1,250 SF. We have stayed or been in all 8 different types of units. There are Deluxe Timbers, Townhouse Timbers and the Oak Timbers. These Timber units are listed as RCI Resort number 3662.

The other CMV units are as listed as RCI Resort number 1115. They are the Pine Villas, the Oak Villas, the 2 bed, 1 bath Cottage, the 2 bed , 2 bath Cottage and the 2 bedroom Cabins.
There can be some slight differences in the same type of units. It can be either a wood or gas fireplaces. I think all of the two bedroom unit s at CMV have a fireplace.

All units at CMV are listed in II as resort XMA.

I do have a spec sheet that mentions the number amenities, number of steps, etc for each unit. If you trade into CMV and are unsure of that you have, just post on or email me at judybruce@wi.rr.com the unit number and I will respond asap.

If you have it on hold then feel free to call us between 8 AM to 8 PM CST for the quickest response in most cases.

I hope that I can be of some help to anyone that is planning to go to CMV in regards to providing various types of information.

This timeshare addict also own 6 weeks in the Florida Keys, 2 and 1/3 weeks RCI Points weeks in Las Vegas, 3 weeks at the Hot "C" in St Croix, one week 26 at the Rushes in Door county. We also have 3 weeks in the World Wide Vacation Club in Hawaii that also lets us book the Lindo Mar in Puerto Vallarta and 5 other locations. We had 15 weeks of timeshare vacation reserved in 2007.

I have to go now as there are a couple of timeshare auctions that I am interested in.

      Hey!

Hey, Bruce! How come I had to find out about this in an around about manner? You never told me about this....well, maybe you did and I didn't understand! I do remember you telling me you were crowned moderator in some other group/forum/whatever.

So what is the difference between a forum and a group? Could someone tell me that?

If I want to search for something in timeshare forums, how can I easily get to a search box? So many places that I go, there seems to be no place to be able to do a search and then I am so lost. Also, I want to have this forum tell me when there is a new posting and I have such a hard time figuring that out too.

I'm so horrible at these bulletin board kind of sites.....TUG included. I get so lost so quickly. I can't wander all around on these looking for new posts....I need it to tell me when something new is posted in an area that I want to be informed.............but how do you find out about those preferred areas? By luck? Like it wasn't until today that I found about BG HOA group on this BB.

Congrats Bruce, and welcome aboard. Looking forward to your forum.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Nothing against Bruce, but should this be swallowed by the Bluegreen forum? Why have both going?

In regards to your I can't wander all around on these looking for new posts.
Go to the top middle top of this page and click on to "Members Tools" and then click on to "Todays Posts" and the newest posts are on the top.

I think after you post on a string it let you know when someone else posts on that same string.

In regards to your "So what is the difference between a forum and a group? Could someone tell me that?" I have to admit I do not really know the difference. I hope one of the more experienced people on the site can provide a accurate answer.

                  Today's Posts

Thanks, Bruce, for the help. But doesn't "Today's Posts" include everything in the whole timeshare forums--not just those things I might be interested in? That might seem shallow but it really isn't; I just get frustrated wading through all the other stuff.

Is there some tutorial to help you understand what you are doing on this board?

Sometimes, I can find a search box but usually it is just for that one forum. Other times, I can get a search box for the whole site. But most of the time, I can't find any search box.

The other thing is finding other members to send a PM to them. I know recently I found on one of the drop down menus, "send PM to member"........but now I don't see it anywhere. Must have been by luck of where I was at at that time.

How I have done it in the past, is to find a posting they have made (by luck of the draw or something) and right click their name and then click on Send Private Message to Member.

No offense taken, as I feel yours is a valid question.

First, I was honored that Bigfrank asked me to try to provide a little helpful info for this limited area, and I felt it would not take a lot of typing (seeing I am one of the slowest typers)

The reason maybe is while that Boca is a true expert on Bluegreeen Points but to my knowledge has never been to CMV. CMV is among the biggest of the Bluegreen resorts.

I on the over hand as a CMV owner may (except owners that live on property) may know as much as anyone else about all of different the units at CMV.

The reason I say that is for the past 7 or so years I have may reserved more reservations at CMV than any other owner has.

For starters most people do not know that there are 7 different 2 bedroom sizes at CMV. Just in the 55 CMV Villa units there are more Villa units then there are units controlled by Bluegreen in a lot of their resorts.

I have in my files a lot of helpful information about units and unit sizes and even the amount of steps you need to climb to get in the front door of every unit.

Some units have 30 steps to climb before you can enter the front door. For some people those 30 steps would be a real hardship.

I know that some of the unit square foot sizes quoted on the Bluegreen websites are wrong as in some cases listed at about 200 square feet larger than they really are. The reason is I measured some units because the size quoted looked incorrect.

I may not have every answer to every question about CMV, but if I do not have the answer, I have do sources at Bluegreen to help me find those answers if really needed.

But IMHO I think I can also be of help by also raising some extra points in answering a question that a poster might not known to ask about.

I would refer you to the top of the Main page. On the left hand side there are 3 headings and they are marked Website Navigation, Forum Navigation and Member tools. If click on them hopefully those items listed on thier menus will get you were you want to go.

I wish I was better on a computor to give you the exact help you want.
Hopefully the little site information will get you by but if it did not PM someone BigFrank, Boca etc and I am pretty sure they can answer those type of computor questions far better than I can.
