Let me introduce myself for those who do not know me.
I am Bruce, a timeshare addict who came down with this disease in 1999.
I do not claim to be a expert or have all of the answers for Christmas Mountain Village (CMV). But if there is a question that I am not sure of giving the correct answer to, I am sure I will know were to find the correct answer from other experienced CMV owners.
I personally know a number of others who are very knowable about CMV and hopefully they with share their knowledge on this forum.
The Wisconsin Dells area has so many different things to do that a week is not long enough if you have varied interests and want varied experiences. I think you will be pleasantly surprised at the number varied things available to do in the Dells and at the resort.
A personal little history.
Seeing that I have been a resident of Wisconsin for all of my life we have been to almost all parts of the state doing things like camping, fishing, snowmobiling, ect we know fair amount of areas and may be able to point you to various websites.
I also know that here are a number of others who are very knowable about CMV and hopefully they with share their knowledge on this forum.
I just turned 64 on October 27, that is the same birthday date that Big Frank posted about the CMVer’s birthday on this website. But Big Frank did not post about mine birthday for some unknown reason. that only Frank knows about. Frank is that @&**%%^ reason you called last night?
I had the pleasure of meeting the CMVer at a the CMV HOA meetings a few years ago. In fact the CMVer has owned at CMV longer than I have and look at him as a early mentor. He is a very nice person.
I met Big Frank at our St Croix dump several years ago when we shared accommodations for 3 or 4 days without our DW’s.
Frank has the pictures of that trip posted on this site in case you may be interested.
As I said before I am a timeshare addict who came down with this disease in 1999 after doing my first tour in Las Vegas. I figured out that there must be timeshare resales before (not) buying from a developer.
Maybe the main reason why Frank asked to try and help that in addition to to my great typing and spelling ability and my handsome looks is that we have currently play with about 100 CMV weeks a year.
The first CMV ownership we bought was a 2 bedroom Cabin number C204 week 1 in 1999. While we were using the summer week at RCI that we got in exchange from RCI.in 2000 I was talking to a nice older gentleman by the pool when I learned a little bit about CMV.
I first had noticed his RCI catalog and seeing we had still not received ours I asked if I could see his. At that time he mentioned that they wanted him to trade in his CMV Cottage UDI for some Bluegreen Points. He said that he was not going to do the trade in and explained his reasons.
I do not remember his name but I do remember that he lived in Muskego, Wi. Which is about 20 miles away from us.
To try and keep the rest of this brief as possible, this timeshare addict since 1999 has owned 49 different ownerships and has sold 20 of them so we only have 29 timeshare ownerships at present.
In regards to what Boca (Jim) and GrayFal (Pat) were alluding to in regards to their posts.
We have had a total of 21 CMV ownerships, which one was that first Cabin we had for less than a year and another is a summer 2 bedroom Villa that we still have at present. The others were 7 CMV UDI Oak Timbers and 12 CMV UDI Cottages. We presently own the 7 UDI Oak Timbers, 4 UDI Cottages and the Summer Villa. We also have 39,000 yearly Bluegreen Points that we mostly use at CMV.
CMV is fairly unique that CMV currently has 8 different main types of two bedroom units that vary from about 650 SF to about 1,250 SF. We have stayed or been in all 8 different types of units. There are Deluxe Timbers, Townhouse Timbers and the Oak Timbers. These Timber units are listed as RCI Resort number 3662.
The other CMV units are as listed as RCI Resort number 1115. They are the Pine Villas, the Oak Villas, the 2 bed, 1 bath Cottage, the 2 bed , 2 bath Cottage and the 2 bedroom Cabins.
There can be some slight differences in the same type of units. It can be either a wood or gas fireplaces. I think all of the two bedroom unit s at CMV have a fireplace.
All units at CMV are listed in II as resort XMA.
I do have a spec sheet that mentions the number amenities, number of steps, etc for each unit. If you trade into CMV and are unsure of that you have, just post on or email me at judybruce@wi.rr.com the unit number and I will respond asap.
If you have it on hold then feel free to call us between 8 AM to 8 PM CST for the quickest response in most cases.
I hope that I can be of some help to anyone that is planning to go to CMV in regards to providing various types of information.
This timeshare addict also own 6 weeks in the Florida Keys, 2 and 1/3 weeks RCI Points weeks in Las Vegas, 3 weeks at the Hot "C" in St Croix, one week 26 at the Rushes in Door county. We also have 3 weeks in the World Wide Vacation Club in Hawaii that also lets us book the Lindo Mar in Puerto Vallarta and 5 other locations. We had 15 weeks of timeshare vacation reserved in 2007.
I have to go now as there are a couple of timeshare auctions that I am interested in.
