Snow at Christmas Mountain

For those who may be interested Christmas Mountain (CMV)has been making snow for about a little over week for the ski hills and tubing runs.

I do not ski but my friends who ski say that the CMV ski hills are geared more for the learner types.

For up to the minute snow conditions call the front desk at 1-608-254-2941.

Our nieghbors like Cascade which is within about 25 miles of CMV and has ski runs that require more skill.

I just called the front desk and they said that they are planning to open the ski runs the Dec 22, 2007 weekend.

The lake we live on in Racine County Wisconsin is frozen over and has snow cover.

You should be able to trade in as Christmas weeks judging by our rentals as the Christmas weeks do not get rented as quick as the New Years weeks do.

When we were there at Thanksgiving, the snow machines were working hard in the evenings. Sometime I hope to get there for some tubing. Too old and out of shape for skiing. Well, maybe bunny hill. Although, I could be convinced to sit in Mulligans with a beer WATCHING. Now that is a good sport I can get into.

When we get back in early January from 3 weeks in Vero Beach and the Keys my 64 year old body may try tubing as our CMV UDI Oak Timbers ownership entitles us to free Ski lift service.

But this old gezzer most likely will not try skiing. I did do my first parrasailing down in Key Largo this past Easter. I only had them let 600 feet of line. It was nice calm and peacefull up there.

Maybe we all could plan on a Weekend to meeting the 2 nd week in January, the 11th or 12th or the week after which may be tough seeing it is ML King week.

Hopefully there will be a fair amount of snow cover in the area and I might bring up my snowmobile as the snowmobile trails were pretty decent in that area.

Bruce, January 11 is the DWs half century birthday. Her birthday party is on the 12th. She is inviting about 60 people with hopes that only 1/3 show up. Of course, that means 40 will show up. I have to smoke a turkey (maybe two) and salmon for her event, plus take care of all other party tasks. I am not a party person So I am wishing very much I could join you for some tubing fun at CMV.

Unless a few others plan to go I may not as we will have just gotten back from 3 weeks in Florida on Jan 6, 2008.

But I will leave that option open until I get back on the 5th.
