The good: I'll be traveling from Seattle->Ohio in August, and it just so happens that there was a cottage unit available for the 5th and 6th of August, so I put it on my UDI contract as a 45-day reservation. My 16-yo son and I will have some quality time for our cross-country trek, and we can stop in and play some free golf. Freakin' Sweet!
The bad: I also called to check that the HK fee had been paid for a week that I plan to do PFD to RCI points. The vacation specialist said that there was a note that the HK fee had been paid, but no credit card number recorded. She put me on hold to call Financial Services, and while she did that, I pulled out my credit card statement. I noticed that (a) I'd been charged 8 HK fees for the 5 cottage reservations I made in February, and (b) I'd been charged 4 HK fees for the 3 Timbers reservations. $194 in overcharges.
After several minutes, the phone went dead. I called back, got a different BG rep, and she said that the first rep had annotated the reservation to say that Financial Services denied the HK fee had been paid. I was transferred to Financial Services, and reported the overcharges. They're doing an audit which will take 7-10 business days.
The ugly: if they don't fix this quickly. Now I'm going back to my CC and ask for a complete rundown of all charges from CMV since we've had the card, to cross-check against all my reservations, and make sure this kind of monkey business hasn't happened in the past. Also, I can't PFD the week unless I pay yet another HK fee, which I'm not going to do. I'll just wait the 10 days, and then cancel the week 39 and rebook a week 42 for PFD.
Has anyone else had problems with this? It's another reason for me not to pay my HK fees in advance.
