Vote on the official Logo for the website....

Now that the logo contest is over and PeterS has won the contest and will be paid for his concept to allow us to use it in the future.... we are at a critical decision point for the future of the site...

We started the logo contest to find an official logo and we have two designs that we can use.... I will be honest, Frank likes one better then the other and I like the second better....

So, Frank and I decided to offer this up to a popular vote... The Logo that gets the most votes will become the primary graphic used on the website, business cards, stationary, as well as the trademark application....

So, here are the two logos....

We will let this voting run until the end of the month or until there is a pretty clear consensus about which logo everybody likes better. Both logos will require being redrawn by a skilled graphical artist using a program like Adobe Illustrator which will allow these logos to be used for objects as large or as small as we wish and that process will make both images look better in their final format. Both images can be printed in color on various color items as well....

I also welcome discussions in this thread as filing for a trademark is a rather expensive process and I want to make sure I have as much feedback before we take the step of including the image as possible....

Also, with Polls, it is not possible to change your vote....

Go for the Globe.

The case idea is extremely dated. Early 60's perhaps.

While I have great affection for the 60's perhaps a rolling duffel bag would be more appropriate now.

The Globe idea wins by default for me.

To be clear... both logos will be used on clothing, etc...

We still can only have one "official" logo....

Like I said, Frank and I wanted more oppinions before we take the next step.

Being no help whatever as you need 1 choice, I would prefer the second option as a clothing logo, but think the first would be better as the site logo.

Globe is my vote.

fwiw, as someone in a design industry, I find the TS4MS to be visually confusing and invaluable. A logo is a direct and instantaneous identity and communication tool.

I voted for the only logo that did not use that at all.

What makes a logo good is when it is instantly recognizable, unambiguous and understandable. A good logo should not provoke the reaction" What is that trying to say?"

I would eliminate the TS4MS entirely and only use Timeshareforums.com....clear, concise, classy.

We can remove the TS4MS from either official logo...

This is a discussion to get all the oppinions we can get...

We can not trademark TimeshareForums as that is a generic term of widely used words so for the purpose of the the trademark to create a unique identity we will be using TS4MS. The Logo that is used by TS4MS however does not need to say TS4MS however!

I have not had the time to work through how we will protect this project yet but we may end up forming a LLC in the name of TS4MS LLC but the darned tax laws make this decision a little tough.

Trademark/Service Mark application

An easy and cheap thing to do right away for protection is to register a trademark/service mark with the patent office. The form is complicated. I have a friend who is a patent attorney walk me through it on-line recently. Could never have figured out how to fill it out correctly on my own.

Actually it is the same font... just in the top it is a taller and wider aspect ratio then the bottom... Both are M.S. Georga font!

That is what makes this whole thing so darned complicated!

I have to admit the second one would be easier to translate to engraving or printing.

Not to spoil the party or anything.. I agree the TS4Ms should go..

I could see myself handing out business cards, but I doubt until I'm older and no longer feel the need to look "cool" . I doubt I'd wear a shirt or hat with that logo. Unless we could give it a surfer or skate boarding look to it.

I am horrible at artsy type stuff, but if I could design a logo I'd possibly wear. I think a background of a beach, wave and palm tree.. similar to Quicksilver or Ocean Pacific brands and some of the t-shirts they put out. I would do it as a drawing, not as a real picture. I think its vacation related and something some of us in a younger generation might wear.
Have the sun.. a big wave crashing over "timeshareforums" and some sand and palm tree..

anyway.. I voted for #2
