I thought last night would have been a good time for me to perform a little database maintenance and I was up to about 4:30AM this morning doing some database changes... well, I had a error in my code that I didn't see in my pre-implementation testing and it was a huge error....
In short, when I got done we went from almost 1400 members to 2800 members and obviously that was not good.... I had done a database backup before I started messing with the additions but I didn't realize that my code did this for at least an hour or two....
So, I had to do a mini-roll-back. I think there were only a few posts that were lost as well as about six resorts that Bill had added to the database. I know the following resorts got lost (All from California)...
San Francisco Suites
Snow Lake Lodge
Sunterra's Palm Springs Marquis Villas Resort
Plaza Resort and Spa
Palm Springs Villas
Warner Springs Ranch
I really try hard to pretest things but this error was a real shock so I am trying to go through and verify my code before I try again. This time I will come back to the forums and LOCK IT before I do the database changes so there is no chance of lost data.
I will post an announcement with the big before I prepare to lock down the database and I will perform a database backup before I do any changes (I always do that).
If someone can help me put the resorts back in I would really appreciate the help... I need to get the database fixed so that I can finish the classifieds and I am blowing a vacation day today to try to finish the basics of the classifieds as well as formally launch the TS4MS Points system. Well, that and 1.5-hrs of sleep last night would make me about worthless at work anyways.
Thanks for any help and please accept my apology to those that lost posts early this morning. Normally between 2AM and 4AM there is not much going on so I thought it would be a good time to do a serious database restructure....
