  • Need help with GPR private forum please...

Would someone please click on the link in my signature and tell me where it sends you.....hopefully to the GPR HOA group where one can apply to join the group....since I am moderator there I cannot tell what it says.

Is there a restriction on who can get to this....i.e. number of posts or newbies?

Also how can we change the announcement so it will tell applicants what the requirements are to join the group?

    Thanks.

For me, it takes me into the group but there is nothing there. All the post are hidden.

No it does not... I will post a screen shot for you in a second...

I think what you need is a landing page with info about the HOA forum, and guidelines for membership and then a link to the page where members can click to join.

The join page is actually here:

            http://www.timeshareforums.com/profi...editusergroups

So, I would suggest you author a new thread in the Site Announcements Section:

            http://www.timeshareforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=31

You can then link to the join page and use that page as your formal introduction... I will post a screenshot of what non-members see in a second!

This is what a non-member sees:

Another fix would be an Announcement that is specific for the HOA forum! Just write up what you would like in the Announcement and Frank or I can create the announcement for you with the link to the JOIN area and you can link to that as well...

Or, you could link to the General HOA area so they would see something:

              http://www.timeshareforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=100

You can log out and see what a non-member sees!

Thanks Ken....I think I got it now....would you please lock the site announcement thread I created and test to see if I did everything correctly. Thanks again.

OK, I closed the page and fixed your link for you...

I also removed your signature in that thread because obviously it is a link to that page!

Also, only members of the HOA forms and the Admins of the site see what is in the HOA forums... Mods and even Supermods do not have access to HOA forums at this point (unless they join).

Let me know if you need anything else!

Is this new? I know a couple of supermods posted in our group by accident recently.

Nope... there was an error in the code... HOA forums are supposed to be private to owners alone (except for Frank and I as we have access to everything...)

                        I fixed the permissions....

Sorry to Tony, Lawren, and Lang!
