    Suggestions

    (1) Bring back the Today's Post link (http://www.timeshareforums.com/search.php?do=getdaily)

Noticed that the link to "Today's Post" now only appears when I Log In .

I prefer to review Today's Post while I'm logoff. This allows me to quickly view the most recent postings without scanning through the multiple exchange opportunities for the day.

    (2) Since certain forums (such as Exchange Opportunities, HOA Forums, etc) can only be viewed while Logged On. Perhaps these links should only appear once you Login (like New Post, My Posts, etc)

    Thanks

    Katie

Sorry but those links consume a fair amount of board resources and they are only available to members because of that. Those links are hidden from Guests as well as from Spiders to save the site from extensive bandwith use.

They are like that on purpose for those reasons. You can click the "Remember Me" button and you should not need to log in each time.

The other links are not searches so they do not use much board resources and we want new members to come and join so if they see those forums they may decide to become a member....

Doesn't "Home" do the same thing? I like it because it leaves "Exchange Opportunities" out which are many posts. They are wonderful if you are looking for these every day but not everyone is. The problem is that we have too many features. JMHO.

Home does the same thing but it is limited to the last 50-topics or so...

The other links are not limited so they search much further back in the database...

When the site is closer to finished we can discuss how the front page should look and what options we want on here but for now I would rather leave it alone as our bandwith use is really quite high and growing fast... That is a good thing in that it means people are finding us and looking around but that also means we need to be careful about how much we give out to visitors that will never become members.

But, I may reconsider in the future after some other projects are done...

Thanks for the tip. I didn't know about the Home feature.
