  • "read messages" Doesn't Change

I don't know that it particularly matters, but I still see post titles in bold that were "new" days ago, and many of them I've clicked on and read--more than once--just to verify that nothing has changed.

I keep thinking that soon, I'll be seeing only what is new to me in bold, but so far, it hasn't happened.

I'm not sure I understand. I generally click on new posts which gives me all the posts that are new since my last log in. How are you looking at posts ?

When I enter the site and see the list of posts, I see the ones that have new posts in bold print, listed at the top--or I did. Now, I see the first 30-35 posts, all of them in bold, then the next posts aren't in bold. It used to be only the ones that had new posts since I had last been there that were in bold; now, I have to retain some memory of where I've been--I can still do that, fortunately, but it is a change from before.

Hummm. I'm using Aol (I know, bad), and it's always worked correctly. This is a development of the last 3 or 4 days.

I'll check by coming in on Firefox.

I just came in using Firefox--nothing is in bold, which is, of course, fine if no one has posted anything since I did.

Apparently, my clarification that the last post I see in bold, using AOL is "Need Older Panasonic Massage Chair Controller;" that has had 2 replies for days and days. After that post, everything is "unbolded."

Additional question: Could it be related to the fact that when I log in and click "remember me," it doesn't? Once I've loged in and filled in my password, I'm re-directed--every time, even though I always click to be remembered--but when I'm shown the list of posts, the log-in blanks are all blank, as though I haven't done it. It must be at least partially aware of me because I can, obviously, post.

How did you come in? Do you use www.timeshareforums.com or just timeshareforums.com. It seems to not remember you if you don't use the www.

                        Interesting.
                        1. I've been using an old link I have on favorites.
                        2. Internet Explorer works.
                        3. Firefox works
                        4. Now, when I type in the address, AOL works, too.
                        5. The old link still doesn't work---so I need to make a new link.

Just an FYI for my firefox; for my version, it comes up with my last 5 tabs open. They retain the last view. I need to click on each tab, then hit the F5 key to refresh. With the refresh, I get the updated posts.

I understand what the OP is talking about. Generally when you read a post it turns to light blue...Sometimes it stays bright blue even though the post was read.

I am using internet explorer, I check TF daily, use google to get www.timeshareforums.com.

                            Hope this helps

an example, today I opened this post on the opening TF page. read the post used the back button to look at all the other dark blue posts on this first page. Then I go to New Posts at the top. As I scroll down I see the post I read a minute before but it is still dark blue...

                            hope I explained well enough

Making a new link solved my problem with AOL, and the other browsers were working.

Thanks for the info. on Firefox; I'll definitely keep that in mind for the sites I routinely go to using Firefox.
