  • Why are my TS4MS Points so wimpy?

I have been limping along, sadly comparing my measly pile of 150 or so TS4MS points to others' vast fortunes of 100,000 points or more. I had sorrowfully concluded that I just hadn't posted enough, and bitterly lamented all the time I had wasted reading and posting on that "other" timeshare board that doesn't give points. But then, I noticed this in another poster's header:
    Join Date: Jul 2006
    Posts: 2
    TS4MS Points: 178.26

So, how does this other person get 178 points after two posts, when I have only 150 after 43 posts? Am I doing something wrong? How can I share in the vast wealth of TS4MS points?

You are a grandfathered in member and you earned points based on your previous posts. New members now earn 100-points just for registering which is how what you describe happens.

Points are awarded for new threads, posts, replies, reading threads, voting on polls, etc. You get more points for activity on the timeshare related forums then on the community forums.

Some members have got a spike in the points through site donations as well:

100% of the money raised from site donations is being spent to hire out the programing needed to improve the website!

So, if you want more points, keep posting!

I hope more new posters contribute! I highly recommend joining because I am getting so much valuable information that was not available to me before. I have no idea what to do with my points 'cause I'm having so much fun reading all the posts!

I would send a PM to Ken (aka Quarterbore). He will assign your points ASAP.

See post 7, look like currently there is no automatic process, so you will have to send eMail to Ken

The script for the donation is supposed to award points automatically but it is not working... I am a couple weeks behind as I need to go into the system and manually award the points for each donation.

I will try to do this tonight so that everybody has the points they deserve... I am also looking at an upgrade for this points system that I hope will fix this problem but I just don't quite have enough hours in my day to get it all done...

Sorry, and I will try to get these points credited to everybodies accounts tonight!

Oh, my! I'm rich now! (Well, in TS4MS points at least.) Wow! Thanks, Boca!

Oh, that reminds me -- I owe you an email about Mountain Run at Boyne. OK, I will go and write that this evening.

By the way, I'm not sure if the fake "BocaBum" is still around, but if so, I move that we call him/her "BogusBum".

                            Ken, thanks for the explanation!

Judy, the other way of earning points is buying the lottery on the site. I know it's not a guarantee but what else are you going to do with all those pts?

Also, Boca, for you to get a tax deduction we'd all have to be paying tax on our earnings. Please don't give Ken any ideas. I pay enough tax in real money.
