TS4Ms is still locking my PC up.

I just answered a PM and came to the forums. When I clicked on New Posts, it locked up. I had to manually shut down and reboot.

It's the only site that does that.

Frank had problems with PMs. I think he said it was when people asked for Delivery confirmation. Perhaps you want to try going in your Control Panel and turning off PMs and see if that helps but is obviously not a great alternative...

Please see if you can figure out a trend but I didn't program most of the code so I don't think there is much I can do about it.

The only trend I can figure out is that it only happens on TS4Ms, even with my crappy PC.

TS4Ms is the slowest to load of any site I visit, especially the first thread I open. After that it runs about the same speed as other sites. I have disabled the pretty avatars to try to help it out.

OK, how can I say this . . . I sense my computer labors on TS4Ms, that there is more that it has to do here than anywhere else, and sometimes it is just too much. I believe I have noticed it lock up when I am trying to log off, and something hasn't finished loading.

It's like it says, "Hey, you told me to do something else, and now you change your mind! Take this!"

I am happy to report that my POC locked up on Hotwire, another site whose tech people have said does not like Win98. Another timeshare forum which recently upgraded to the same message board as TS4Ms, now acts similar to TS4Ms, in that the first post opened is very slow to load.

Forget upgrading but get a new PC and don't get an expensive one either because they are outdated again so quickly. If you buy a new PC, you will automatically get the newest operating system too and whatever programs come with your PC plus all the latest goodies that are necessary.

I finally have figured this out as I tried to keep our computers way too long until they stopped working because I felt I had paid too much for them.

Get only what you need and for surfing the Net, you don't need an expensive computer. It would cost you more to upgrade.
