New PM Notifications and New PM count

There was a thread on this but I couldn't find it... not in this forum?

So anyways, I have finally seen this myself....

The PM that I did not get a notification about was that I won the daily lotto

I need to look at the code that generates that PM and perhaps there is a setting in there that is causing it to act funny...

If others see this, I need to know who sent the PM to you so I can work to figure this out... If you don't want us all to know who PMs you, just "A MEMBER" works but I need to know if the PM is system generated and if it was what part of the code may have generated it...

The only notification I get is that the Private Message count for Unread increases if I receive a new message. I don't get a popup or anything like that for any new PM. Should I ?

Not unless you change the settings in your user options to show one...

The issue is that where the forum shows "Private Messages Unread: 0" the "0" is not always updating to a 1, 2, 3 etc... I was told about this by a couple members but I thought it was a browser issue until I got to see it on my system too...

In my case, the PM was a server generated PM which makes me think that there could be something in the code that makes the PM not register as an "Unread" one... Even though when you open the PMs it is bold as if it was unread.

I haven't had that problem. The count of Unread has always been accurate.

Well, I won the lotto again and it happened again...

FWIW, I buy the same 5-tickets every day and I think I won three times this week...

From the counts I owned:

5/14 tickets won
5/16 tickets won
5/16 tickets lost
5/20 tickets lost
5/18 tickets won

I think I need to play the real lotto... but I also think we need more players!

Before this I was not playng every day...

The weekly drawing is upto 4,500 points and I have 10 of the 35 tickets sold... Let's get some more people playing!

As for the PM thing, I have figured out where the PM is generated but I have not been able to figure out why the PMs don't show up in the PM count or flag as a new PM...

I am trying though...
