no idea why 15 posts. But I will guess it is to encourage to participant the board and joint the discussion. When I first attended, I believe it is 50. 15 sounds good. It means people has stayed a while, and involved in some discussion or start some. With so many different topics not just concenrated on TS, it should be achivable in less than 2 or 3 month.
Can I ask what the rationale is for requiring 15 posts before one sees additional boards? Rewards the loquacious over the reflective...
(Perhaps asked and answered before, but a search doesn't produce useful results.)
Basically What Jya-Ning posted as we want people to participate in discussion and not just take info without giving back. Also to give the people who contribute more to the site first crack at the sightings.
It is free to post and the 15 posts can be done in a day or two if the person really wanted to get in to see them. There is also the option of becoming a site contributor. That will get you instant access with zero posts and the lowest cost is $12 with other perks given.
I haven't been to the forum in a while, living in Mexico,--though I had way more than 15 posts before--and I can't see any exchange opportunities. Do I need 15 new posts? What's the time period for the posts?

Are you sure you don't have us confused with TSTips ? Hey you are 2/3 of the way there, so only 5 more and you're in. Surely the famaous Peekabo Street can come up with 5 posts !
Not necessarily. That is the choice of the author. What choice are you making?...or are you making it painfully clear.
One thing any post does is bring a subject that perhaps has other valuable information in it and also gets others to consider participating in that thread.

Unless you signed up under a different member your post count is accurate. There is a chance though that you might have lost some posts if a thread was deleted. Let me ask you, Did you post a lot in the JLB's saga with the problems he had next door? That thread was deleted at Jim's request.
The system automatically puts you into the 15 posts and above group. However, this is not an immediate conversion-it takes some time, usually under an hour.
