There are times when you forget how fragile a website can be and I accidentally deleted a file while I was trying to install a script. Luckily, I do a real good job of backups and redundant backups but I about bit my tongue off when the site went down...

You will notice that the URLS of threads, posts, and other materials on the site will look different now. This is a powerful tool that Frank and I purchased which will help TS4MS grow now and in the future.

Unfortunately for me... I was relying on a file that it overwrote so I had to do some really quick hacking to get us back up...

I am going to drink a case of beer now...

No, this was all my fault... I did my database backup, backed up the files, and then forgot my thinking cap and just installed a new script without looking at the install code to see what it was going to do....

Well, in the process of installing it ate a file that this site had to have because of the way I built it... It took me a couple minutes to figure out what had happened as this was supposed to be a real easy upgrade...

Then to see we had something like 60-people on the site when this happens... well you know

That ain't LUCK that is someone who learned the hard way and will NEVER make that mistake again. Been there, done that, got the Tshirt.

I expect that the search engines will really beat up the site for a while as they get used to all the new urls!

Also...

I am VERY WORRIED about links comming into the site with the new changes!

I need help checking that the various HOA links, clubs, etc are still working. If they are not, I can fix these but I need to know to be able to fix them...

Next, Tony PMed me that he has issues with his PM box so I need to know if anything looks strange.

The script I installed is used on hundreds of websites and is something we really needed but there may be a little growing pain for a day or two while I try to ensure everything works!

PM problem

I seem to be having a problem accessing my PMs. It shows as there being 1 new unread message but when I go in, there are no new ones showing. I think there is actually a new one as I'm expecting one from somone. How do we fix that?

What browser do you use? Tony reported a similar problem...

I am working with the new code that I installed to see if I can figure the issue out with the old PMs or even new PMs for those that have problems...

This script cost us $150 but wow does it do some pretty cool stuff! It's just darned complicated!
