Oppinions wanted... Do we bring the points system back?

Even though I have not much need for them I like to give them a way in contests. It does make it fun with the lottery and the football bets.

Ken I am not sure but could it have been that V Bookie that caused this. Every thing was fine until after the Superbowl.

No, our running a superbowl bookie event has NO ISSUE on the security threat of the script impacting hundreds of other websites like it has impacted us...

I do not need the points system, but I think you have it some form for the ones that did enjoyed using it.

The points were a nice bonus, but the real purpose of this site I believe is to share/exchange information. If the points slow down the site, I vote to leave them out. If one wants to place classified ads, they should accept the fact that Redweek, TUG, & others cost $$.

I liked them. I found myself posting more here than "over there" as a result of that They also were good to use for the ads.

I believe the main purpose of this site is to share information. If the points slow down the site, I vote to leave them out. Those who used the points for classified adds surely realize that Redweek, TUG, & others charge $ for that service.

The points were fun.
But all good things come to an end.

Ken do what is right for this site. If that means not having points then that means just not having points.
There will be no harm done. We can still talk about the good-o-days and not the troubles that might come later.

They were fun to use for contests and purchasing ads. They weren't the same after the stuff to buy for people dropped off the site <ie, virtual gifts, ribbons and wine and chocolates> but if we have to let them go...DITCH 'EM!

I never took the time to figure out what they were all about. I knew they could be used for ads but if I ever place one I'd be happy to pay a reasonable fee. I won't miss them. I don't feel I've been here long enough to deserve a vote' Besides I'm a "weeks" timesharer. Don't know 'nothin 'bout points. Too complicated.

It may be true statistically that the site runs faster without points, but, as a user I really don't see any difference. I found it ran pretty well before and don't see it behaving any different now. My vote is still to get them back if possible.
