Posting exchange results

I'm not sure this is a problem but a question of how to, if possible.

Is there a setting on TS4MS or on my computer that I can change so that when I copy an exchange result and post it into a thread, that the icons and funky formatting doesn't come with it.

This morning, ArtsieAng and I were posting some trade results. She was able to post her results without any clean up and they were very organized in a straight forward manner.

On the other hand, it took more 15 to 20 minutes to clean up, delete icons and hard returns and spaces to make mine somewhat presentable. In fact, I had so much junk that I got an error message telling me I had too many symbols to allow it to be submitted.

I can't figure out why my copy of results don't post the same as ArtsieAng's.

Mike...do you have your Message Editor Interface on standard, or another setting? I'm not sure, but that might make a difference.

Or, you can paste into a standard text editor before pasting it here and then copy and paste it again... the text editor (notepad, wordpad, etc) will remove the extra HTML code!

Yes....that's what it's on. Using Enhanced, seems to screw up my computer, with stuff like this. That's the reason I mentioned it.

How do you switch from Enhanced Message Editor to Standard? Is that on the User Control Panel? (I couldn't find it.)

Try this.


To check it or change it, go to Member Tools on the Navigation Bar, click Edit Profile, then click Edit Options, scroll down to near the end of the page you will see the Messenger Interface. If it is Enhanced, change it to Standard. At the bottom of the page, Save or Submit Changes.

Changing this Interface will save you lots of editing out icons, hard returns and discombobulated posts for the exchange results.

I had my setting on standard. I discovered my problem was using Firefox display. When I swiched to internet explorer I was able to copy & paste without all the extra spaces & junk. The pages load like molassas though. I guess it's a trade off. Unfortunatly, now that I've solved the problem, I won't be home on Saturday for the next trade test. We're headed for Sedona & I won't be touching a keyboard until I return.
