Please POST HERE if you CAN NOT use the chat system!

Last night we had a scheduled chat with DAE and there were a few members that discovered they could not get into the chat server during the chat. I want to ensure that everyone can get access but for you to get into the chat system will likely require YOU to ensure your computer has everything it needs to have!

In order for me to trouble shoot and know what to suggest, I need some information....

First, Please see if you can get into the Chat System here:

If you can never post anything in the chat, you do NOT have access and I need you to let me know! If you can post, please don't reply in this thread!

For those that can NOT access the chat system, I need a few pieces of information:

1. What type of computer are you using (PC, MAC, Linux, etc)
2. What opperating system (Windowns, Firefox, Netscape, etc)
3. What version of Java are you using
----> windows - control panel -> Java -> General -> About
4. Do you use antivirus or Firewall software (what are they)

I am sure there are other possible places to look but these are the most logical sources of the problems...

I am still looking at the chat software providers technical info...

What version of Java do you have in your browser?

I redownloaded version 6, update 1 and now I can get in the chat room.

Don't really understand why it works now but it does.

I still want to know who can not access the chat server... we need to figure it out BEFORE we try to do a chat that you may want to see!

We are planing a large Chat with SFX in Sept. We may also try to get a Marriott chat together before then. It would be nice if members checked to see if they can get in sometime before the Chats rather than waiting to the last minute. Don't take it for granted that it will always work nothing is guaranteed.

Color palette didn't work

Ken,

When I helped with the DAE chat the other night, both Fermin Cruz and I tried to change the color of our posts so that others could distinguish our posts from the questions. We selected different colors from the color palette but our posts did not reflect the colors selected. All posts were in black. That's why Fermin underlined his posts.
