I am a little surpried by all the votes to have it on the right. It may be possible at some point in the future to allow people to set this one way or the other but at this time that is beyond what I can do.
I am also looking to a simple way to allow members a way to trun on or off the extra buttons on the side and this may be an option at some point in the future as well. It took quite a bit of time to just get these buggers on the left and then moving them to the right was a bugger too because not all windows were sized to keep from scroling...
At this point, I am getting used to it on the right as well.Comment

I have figured out a way that contributing members (remember contributing members start at only $12/yr or $1/month) can by default have the the boxes on the right be turned off and then turn it back on as they wish. I hav eit worked out and I am just finishing up the changes that are needed but It looks pretty good so far!
I can offer this to all contributors that want this option... Just PM me and I will make it happen... For now you would start with the way the forum looked originally OR you can click a button to have it look like what you see here...Comment

As we read from left to right I think it better to have the main body of text i.e. the threads on the left and therefore 'seen' first. The information in the side panel is secondary, for me at least.Originally posted by QuarterboreComment
