Briefly I log into the the site, and are recognised but when attempting to go to any sub flori are denied,

You need to be more specific....

Problem is now reoccuring.

Specifically, I log in and am greeted with my user name,

Select Today's Posts from the top menu displayed. Read a number of them and go to page two.

Tonight I read some and replied to one, when I went to post it, got the message I was not a member and could not do the action requested.

If I had to guess I would guess there is some sort of timer involved.

Is the check in the box that says remember me when you log in? If it is not then you are being logged out while you are writing. If the reply that you are writing is long, that is what is most likely happening
