Can't load pictures

I tried uploading some pictures and still can't do it. Haven't been able to for some time. I get the following error:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 41943040 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 13216 bytes) in /home/quarterb/public_html/photopost/image-inc.php on line 99

How big a mega pixel camera are you using?

The pics I'm loading are from 1.5 - 3.5 MBs

I thought there was a limit of size in total that people are allowed to post. Has that changed, Frank? I also thought that pictures would automatically be made smaller to a certain size (800 X 600). I have never seen them larger than that when they are uploaded here.

The software brings the size down but with some of the newer cameras that are now going now over 8 mega pixels that might be the problem.

Can you email the pics to Emmy to see if she can post it. If she can than it might be coming fropm your end.

Emmy, I probably won't be able to get them to you tonight or tomorrow night as I'm busy but I'll try and get them to you on Friday or this weekend.

I always get that error...My camera is set on very high quality, so the pixels are very high and all of my pictures are over 1mb. As a matter of fact, yesterday morning, I tried to upload one of my pictures for use as an avatar and I still have to resave/resize it in order for it to work. I'm almost there..One more save and i will be able to do it!

Your camera should have software included where you can resize all your pictures for email to family or friends or to upload somewhere. Leave your original files in tact because you cannot make them larger again. I would make a second copy of your original photo file so you can always go back to your original size and quality again if you ruin pictures.

You can also use the Picasa software which is free. They also let you resize in bulk but keep your original camera file safe on a CD or external HD. My external HD failed but I had all original photos on CDs but I have too many to find something fast. I now use Smugmug for that. I love it because I can see all the thumbnails at once of every saved file.

Frank, I tried to upload some pictures for the Marriott in Maui and got the same error message that Gordon and John get too. I even made the photo images smaller but I still got the warning:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 41943040 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 13300 bytes) in /home/quarterb/public_html/photopost/image-inc.php on line 99

I didn't try in the member pages so will try that now.

PS. Same error message again!
