About the site being down this morning

Site was down from about 9:30 until about 10:15... Much longer then planned... sorry!

OK, sorry about the forum being turned off... When I did the roll-back the other day I did so by copying our backup over to a new database on the server. That was a quick and easy fix but I had to get the current forums data back in the main database as this is where I have all of my automated backups running.

Please report any new problems and I will try to fix them... because the backup and restore happened with the forums locked down no posts or information should have been lost...

Forums and other data back in the main database...

When I did the roll-back I did so by wiping out my developmental website database and I restored the backup there... so, for the past couple days we were living on my developmental database... It is a place I work and test code changes...

Well, that worked find but I have a number of scripts and programs that I have put in place to monitor and backup our main database...

With the data on the developmental database we had been running at risk and this morning was the first good chance I had to fix the problem. So, I did a backup of what was on the main database (it was the pre-roll-back data) plus a backup of the developmental database... Then I restored the data that we have entered on the dev database back to the main database again...

So anyways, we are now back on the main board and the development forum is pointed at the dev database.... I do have backups still of the pre-roll-back data as I have not had the time to recover the lost resorts that were added and lost due to the roll-back but I hope to do that tonight... Just the same, we now have all the database backup scripts in place again...
