Hang or not to hang laundry

Unfair
We are hangers, prefer it for some things. However, our subdivision has a rule against outside clothes hanging, so we have to do it inside.

I have no problem with neighbors hanging laundry outside, but it is clear by the picture in this article that this woman is hanging her laundry in the front yard. If I were her neighbor, I would be ticked off as well!
And the other "victim" mentioned in the article lived in a condo and was fined for "putting up a clothesline in a common area". He was complaining that he couldn't put up a clothesline on property he didn't own!
This article was just another sensationalized, fact-lacking piece of writing meant to catch the eye of the uninformed.

I have always hung my laundry outside to dry, as did my mother. I have a dryer, which my mother never had, so my stuff only goes on the line when it's relatively warm outside. My neighbors hang their laundry outside as well.
I have a drying rack where I dry sweaters and other things that I don't want to put on the line or in the dryer.
My ex MIL lived in an upscale neighborhood that banned hanging laundry so she had one of those umbrella styles and she put it ouside, but in a place where no one else could see it. She refused to dry her sheets inside.

Nothing like being hung. We hang ours in the back yard until it gets too cold, then we use the dryer. We have several people that heat with wood stoves, so unless smoke flavor is desired- winter is dryer time.
