Exactly. Definitely not the way a steam room is meant to be enjoyed. I wouldn't even bother.

I thought this thread was going to discuss "How to avoid staring."

One thing that you should not be doing is making your own bubbles.

Oh come now, you knew it had to come out sooner or later.

Thanks all that replied. I know I got the shower before you go in right at least! Personally, I am not one to shy away from being naked in a locker room. Granted I don't walk around - but a quick change of clothing isn't an issue. So....since there was only a couple other people in the locker room - way at the other end....I opted to enjoy the hottub. Still not 100% sure if it was 100% correct. But, it was a nice relaxing 15 minutes or so! I am just thankful nobody jumped in with a suit on - then I think I would have been a bit embarressed.

Sometimes it's just hard to get it right. I recall being embarrassed wearing a swim suit because 2 of our new Australian ladies joined me wearing their "traditional swim suits" (full length (neck to ankles) dresses ).

Most surprising experience was walking into the steam room to find a morbidly obese, naked, middle aged lady, who had wrapped herself, neck to knees, in plastic microwave wrap (to increase weight loss???), eating a ham sandwich that was curling at the crusts from the heat.

Wow - that would have thrown me for a loop if I walked into that - not necessarily the obese part - but the wrap and ham sandwich would have done it for me. I think I would have said excuse me and turned around and walked out!

Shower first before using any hot tub or pool, even if you didn't just get a massage.

Even in a private, gender-specific locker room, always a bathing suit in a hot tub. It is otherwise somehow gross, no matter the make or model of the person.

Steam room and sauna, whatever. But always take a towel to sit/lay on as a hygiene issue.

However anyone else goes about their business in the locker room, I don't care. I trend towards modest so will never traipse naked thru the place, but I'm also not gonna bother with taking all my clothes to the shower stall. Some women will never be comfortable dressing/undressing near others, and that's just fine.

confusing, YES. Possibly dangerous! Eating in there? no.

What is proper spa etiquette for.....

                            A) ... A whirlpool (enough to fit 10 people) that is located in a womans locker room for spa and fitness club users. Birthday suit or bathing suit? ...

                            B) ... If you go in for a soak are you supose to wash what you can off in the shower first?

IMO, natural is the way to go.
If you require a cover up that is up to you. (Why are people embarrassed just because you are or are not dressed or undressed as others located in a women's locker room?)

Always clean yourself well before you soak. Don't pollute. Help keep the soak-water clean.

What if you have a condition that would make others uncomfortable? (eg. extreme obesity, scarring, physical deformity....) I think in that case staying in a suit may be thoughtful.

OK you want to laugh, We were watching a show I think it was called sharks or Shark tank something like that. Any way there are I think 5 very rich people looking at peoples businesses so that they might over $ for a percentage, Well an older couple came out with oder eating briefs to absorbe the farts. The wife had a bad problem and if they had not come up with this they would have split up years ago. The granny panties had Charcoal sewed in it. It is the same Charcoal that is in your Brita water filter and fish Aquariums. Well they did not buy into it but I give them credit I think that was a great idea.
