  • 11 pm and two guys just knocked on my door looking for shoveling work. I hope I get to sleep tonight.

School canceled tomorrow again here (announced at 9 pm) but it looks like the worst is over here.

    • It looks like a dangerous situation. I heard the meteoroligist did not make an accurate forecast?

"It was so cold, Sarah Palin had to cancel a speech because she didn't want to take her gloves off to read." –Jay Leno

"The East Coast is covered in snow right now. Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia got almost 35 inches over the weekend. And may get 20 more inches tomorrow. Schools and businesses were closed. They're building snow-bamas all over the place." –Jimmy Kimmel

"The federal government was shut down today, and they estimate it cost about $100 million in lost productivity. The House is literally stuck in the House, and they can't do anything. I have to admit, it is nice to see lawmakers shoveling something else for a change, isn't it?" –Jimmy Kimmel

            • This is a Chiropractics dream! They are going to make a killing with all the back aches from the shoveling. Ouch

My TV came back on sometime while we were asleep, What stinks is we missed Cougar Town and Modern Family and American Idol.

I had to go in my yard barefoot to rescue my poor little blind dog that got buried in the yard and could not get out.

              • This snow has been tougher on my pup too. About 2-1/2 feet of snow on the ground and poor old dad is out back with a shovel making a path for the little girl. I can't imagine the extra issues that you would have on a normal day, let alone with the snow.

                • It looks like we have less snow now than we did before this latest because it was so windy last night, all the drifts blew smaller and all the snow is gone from the trees. I may try to venture out today. Cars on my street seem to be travelling ok. I've about had my fill of snow for the next 3 years.

Don't forget, they do get snow on Mauna Kea on the Big Island.

Edit: Just checked the Mauna Kea snow report. Just a few small patches. Temp 42 degrees.

Then, more, expected to get here in three days.

                              • Our cars are parked in the back of our property and the town doesn't plow the alleys. We have a neighbor with a snow plow, but he was so busy, it wasn't until about noon that we were plowed out. Then we had a 3.5 foot wall of heavy snow to dig out from the plowed snow. Most of the streets in my town only have room for a car in one direction. If we get more snow, I don't know where we are going to put it. There are some mounds of piled snow on our street that are 5 feet high.
