      Southern New Jersey

Leaving Branson for Southern New Jersey (Wildwood for a Memorial Service) mid-week next week. What am I facing, taking into consideration the storms of the recent past and this new storm?

Probably nothing, unless a new storm comes up next week. This will probably all be a dim memory by Sunday.

Who the heck knows? Maybe it's because the electrical wires are so intertwined with tree branches. At least that's what it's like by my house.

I had two to three inches of snow to clear off my car this morning before leaving for work. It's not supposed to get real bad here until late afternoon/early evening. Hopefully I'll be at home by then, sitting on my sofa with a nice glass of wine! Almost all of the schools around here announced school closings for today by last night. The kids here are going to be need to go to school until July at this rate! Have a TS vacation scheduled for the last week of June and may need to change the date if we get many more snow days.

They called at 5:30AM closing our schools. There was nothing at that time on the ground. Talked myself into going back to sleep and woke up to 3 inches and very heavy snowfall but no winds.

We used to lose power a lot when we first moved here but it's been better the last 5 or so years. At this point it's a 50/50 chance if we get the winds predicted with the snow heavy tree branches laying on the power lines.

I decided to keep DD home. I feel stupid, b/c it's not that bad here yet, but if they have early dismissal, it will be a nightmare getting her home.

If they have a snow day tomorrow, it's coming out of spring break in April.

It's mostly just rain here on LI. Every once in a while I see a huge snowflake go by, tho.

I think LI is supposed to get off easy this time--it's all falling on NYC and me and Lawren.

We were going to get it at least once Wackster. Can't expect to get off scottfree when everywhere else has been counting the snowfall in FEET!

The kids have only used one snow day so far. I figure today and tomorrow use up the 3 we build in. Anymore will come off the spring break, starting with Easter Monday.

Yeah....I'm deciding whether or not to make my DD go to school today in NYC. She has a long day today, and wouldn't get out until 7PM.

Thing is that she needs to take the LIRR home, and they tend to have problems in bad weather.

We have an inch or so on the ground and it's snowibg big flakes. The Philly station now says the bulk of the strom is coming tonight along with the winds. I looked at flights to see if we could get to Dallas today but they are either full or cancelled. Think we will leave early afternoon and stay in Philly tonight.

They just announced early dismissal for our schools. Now I don't feel so bad about keeping DD home.

Been raining here all morning--looks like the rain/snow line is running right on the NY-CT border- so it may be snow 15 miles to the west of me.
