zOMG. Syracuse University just announced cancellation of classes starting at 2pm. This is the first time I can recall this happening in my 10 years as a faculty member here.

Well, it changed to snow overnight on LI. It's too dark for me to tell how much we have, but I can say that looking out the window at the blowing snow is enough to make me want to puke!Angela
If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.
BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Not sure of the total. A LOT! I'll measure later. It looks like less because it is such a heavy snow.
They are saying I'll getup to another half a foot before we are done. Life in a snowglobe at the moment.
ROCKLAND COUNTY WEATHER FORECAST
Friday, February 26, 2010
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING SUPER-STORM BRINGS UNHEARD OF UPSIDE-DOWN TEMPERATURE AND PRECIPITATION PATTERN, WITH A STEADY WARMING FROM SOUTH TO NORTH; RAIN ALL DAY AND NIGHT AND 40 DEGREES AT LAKE GEORGE AND SARATOGA SPRINGS, 5" RAIN AND 60 MPH WINDS IN EASTERN NEW ENGLAND, TWO TO THREE FEET OF SNOW IN WESTERN PASSAIC COUNTY, NEW JERSEY! The very intense storm that brought over a foot of snow to Rockland County will remain stationary right over southeastern New York, with central barometric pressure below 29.00" or lower than some hurricanes. The storm will gradually weaken, but we could get another 3"-5" of snow today and tonight, before a gradual improvement over the weekend, and partly sunny on Sunday. Since there's warmer air to the north, no very cold air will follow the storm, and temperatures will b above freezing each day through at least the next week.
Today: Mostly cloudy and windy with occasional snow, additional accumulations 2"-4". High: 30-35.
Tonight: Light snow, breezy and cold. Additional snow accumulations 1"-3" bringing the storm total to 12"-17" except two feet from Suffern and route 202 west. Low: 23-28.
Banana muffins sound just about right this morning and something warm and stewish for dinner. Luckily I braved the store Wednesday because I'm not getting out until tomorrow afternoon at the earliest.Lawren
