Yes, but what of the other 15 weeks?

I am serious - we're in Aruba now at Costa Linda and we own 37 weeks. The rest of the time we have a house in Florida. We are retired and both worked from the age of 13 & 16. We won't be hear all 37 this year as we are travelling in June/July and DH goes back to FL for bridge tournaments.

Wow. That's impressive. I'm very curious about how this came about. Did you first own a week or two at this resort, and then loved it, so slowly bought more weeks over time until you had accumulated 37? Did you mostly buy resale weeks or did you buy bulk from the developer? Does it work out that you can stay in the same unit for the duration of your stay, or do you have to change units sometimes?

DH just reminded me that we have 4 weeks at other resorts. As to how it came about - we bought 3 weeks from the developer about 15 years ago. Then the savior of our resort (he took it to the members when our developer was going under) owned the whole year (except maintenance week). When he became terminally ill he reached out to the members saying he wanted to sell in blocks of time. We originally bought 30 weeks and then added 7, all in the same unit (3 BR). When we realized we loved the new unit we put our 3 weeks in a 2 BR up for sale and (drumroll) actually sold the weeks for more than we paid the developer as they were prime weeks in the same unit.

                      Getting back to the topic..............

You know You're Addicted To Timesharing When.........................

You are reasonably certain that you could rent for cheaper, but you buy a week to ensure that you can return again and again to the same place at the same time.

..............when you keep all your beach gear permanently packed in the car trunk and an overnight bag stocked with everything you need ready to go because you used the washer and dryer in your unit on the last day to keep yourself in vacation mode all summer long.

....when you sit on the patio overlooking the beach at your current timeshare vacation spot with your coffee and laptop checking II and RCI and some of the independents for the next exchange.
