I've had a Jenny, Scooter (he already had that name), Sheena (a Samoyed mix, also came with that name - I would have selected Roxann for her), Sam, Abby, and Oscar. We like people names for our dogs because they are part of the family.

We have friends with a dog named Di-o-gi (sound out the letters D-O-G). I think that's really cute.

I knew you all would be up to the task. You are all on the right path. Personally, I really like Monty (sounds like an old drinking buddy) Magnum (big fan of the show as well as the rockford files) and Oakley all of which were on my short list but outvoted by the kids. Carol is right in that I should have never opened it up to them. Jeter is also a winner in my book.

Chappy was my uncle's cat but it would kind of feel like I'm calling myself. I like the way liberia is thinking with Cooper and then shortening it to Coop. When picking names we always see how it sounds with, "Good boy.....!" Maverick was always Mav.

Thanks for sharing your picture and website barbeque. Your dog is beautiful. That picture of him in the dishwasher is too funny. Hopefully he is not still "helping" when he is fully grown. It reminds me of when I suggested the name "Major" to my family and my 8 year-old daughter said it sounds like he is going to be a major pain! Good luck with him. Check out Cesar Milan's book "How to Raise the Perfect Dog" and check out his show "The Dog Whisperer". Cesar is the man!

And Beags..."Boston" is now under consideration. When my wife and I were first dating we took a trip up to Boston and that's where we realized how much we really liked each other. There was no one else after that.

Not that you asked but I once had a tonkinese cat named Tonka.

My son and I were out walking when we passed a lady walking a tiny chihuahua. She tugged on the leash and said "c'mon Killer". I thought I would die laughing.

That was so last week. My friends are driving me nuts. Now they want to go to San Francisco and Tahoe. They change their minds at the turn of the wind. It's driving me nuts. They decided that airfare to Hawaii was just too much They also don't want to do the long flight when I told them how many hours it was because of all the flying we did with Spain.
They just have no idea how much planning goes into these vacations. I have them very spoiled. All I do is tell them how much it is and they show up.
They don't know the hours I spend researching everything.

Well, sorry about that. Since I don't have a doggie anymore I'm totally in kitty mode. I think you are right about Smoky.
