I saw it last night, I have no idea what Nike is thinking or even what Tiger is doing allowing them to make the ad. He must be getting paid a lot.

I thought it was sad and sorry-ass. It totally turned me off. If this is how Nike is trying to "explain" why they are still using Tiger, it was a big, self-serving flop. I think they would have been better off to ignore it at this stage of the game.

It did nothing for me as far as enhancing either their brand or Tiger's reputation.

I think it was a very creative ad from Nike's point of view.. People are talking about it- which I would guess was the primary intent. I've heard the word Nike at least ten times today in office conversations, and not once did I hear another shoe brand..

Nike's marketing strategy has never been about communicating or providing information about their products- but simply seeking maximum attention.

For that behemoth, it's less about the products than it is about brand recognition.

I have to agree. Early morning Australian radio, had listeners calling in to give their opinion of the ad and a lot of discussion about its intent.

General opinion was not positive. There will be lots of discussion around Oz work places today.

I think its exploitive and in bad taste. Supposedly his Dad was also unfaithful. Is Dad asking if Tiger learned to pick a mistress that would keep her mouth shut?

Well, the ad certainly served its purpose. Lots of attention for Nike.
