  • Just took a step back into my childhood!

I just took a a giant step back to my childhood!!!! I had a Swanson's Fried Chicken TV dinner. Boy did it feel good!! Yummy. But this time it was accompanied by a nice glass of homemade red wine.

    LOL, I hear ya!
It was a special treat when my parents would go out and my grandmother would babysit to get to pick our very own TV Dinner.
I liked the ones that had the little square deserts in them the best.

This was fried chicken, mashed potatoes, corn and a brownie.

Thanks for the memory. Don't recall my favorite, but I had my share of Saturday night tv dinners when my folks went out and I was not able to drive yet! I've been married 33 years and I don't think I've ever had my wife buy or cook one, a lot of peanutbutter & jelly sandwiches and Mac & cheese though!

I hope you dined from a TV Tray! Remember those?

My instant send back to childhood is a bologna and mayonaise sandwich with "plain" potato chips and a glass of milk.

I do that once in a while when I'm feeling down.

          Good memories!

Everything tastes better with wine, doesn't it?
            Even TV dinners.

I used to love the Swansons chicken pot pies. Yummy.
I still buy them sometimes for old times sake.
Actually Marie Callendars makes some nice ones too.

when I was a poor, struggling college student (and then new underemployed graduate at recession time), I attempted to have that comfort food on a budget. Went with Banquet. ugh, oh gross, ick, get this out of my mouth ... ewwww!!!

ruined it for me pretty badly. Periodic "upgrades" to Swanson have been ok, but still brought memories of hard times. I remember wanting that chicken dinner, and being so disappointed in teh chicken. I just can't do frozen fried chicken, it doesn't work for me.

I was ok with the Swan's Beef Pot Pies while they were great, but then they changed the formula and I just couldn't do it anymore.

Marie C, I like her stuff. LOVE getting the multi-pack cheap at Costco.

If only someone could make fried chicken like my grandmother did!
