This is apparently Wisconsin state law.

    Does this law include water?
Our course has stopped having drinking water available on the course.
You are supposed to purchase it from the bev cart when it goes by, but it doesn't go by that frequently. i guess you are supposed to buy bottles in the pro shop before you go out.
I am wondering if that law is intended to prohibit bottles of water or is it intended for alcoholic drinks.

Or is it really a law?

I don't golf, or visit Wis often (next time will be to see FIL in August, and I am not looking forward to that) but I did google this as well as I could. While I could not find the law as stated from the state, I did find this from another golf course:

Can I bring my own beverages to Glen Erin?
No. Aside from bottled water which can be brought on by our players, all other beverages must be purchased from The Cursing Stone Pub. It is unlawful for our customers to bring alcoholic beverages unto our property for the purpose of consumption. For this reason, Glen Erin keeps its beverage prices in line with other establishments in the area.

But...at Christmas Mountain, I find their rules state:
Course Rules: All players must have their own clubs, No carry-on beverages, no fivesomes, Carts required prior to 3:00 p.m. with the exception of spring/fall weekends. Pace of play must be mantained.

the pro just sent us a memo regarding no carry on beverages.
I just can't imagine a reason for forbidding by law carry on water. I can see why the golf course doesn't want you to, but why would the legislature forbid it?

we have several members who carry what they call birdie juice in their bags. they take a nip if they get a birdie. since there are few birdies, they take a nip when they want to get a birdie. they take lots of nips around the golf course.
