We are looking to buy a new barbeque grill and have been researching gas, charcoal, and other types of grills. I came across the Traeger grill at our local grill store. http://www.traegerstore.com/
It is very appealing to me because it uses hardwood pellets for fuel that are augered into a burning chamber. I love the convenience of gas (except when the tank runs out) and the flavor of charcoal. We usually have a smokebox on the gas grille to get some smokey flavor. Seems like it's the best of both worlds! It has 3 cooking modes (Smoke, Medium, & High) for all different types of foods.
The company has been producing them for 20 years but I haven't heard about them before. They are kind of pricey ($700-$2,000) but I figure it will last at least as twice as long as my $300 grill.
Has anyone owned, used, or eaten food cook on a Traeger? Is it worth the investment?
Thanks!
