I clicked on link...nice looking car, but they forgot to list how many miles it gets to the gallon. With gas prices as high as they are you'd think they'd list that important item."Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed and those who are cold and are not clothed."

I have a deposit on the car but I am still unsure as I like the Lincoln Zephyer which gives you a lot for your money. Gas is 20/28Timeshareforums Shirts and Mugs on sale now! http://www.cafepress.com/ts4ms

ok, Frank. I have to guess that even though you asked post-deposit, you still have time to change your mind, otherwise you wouldn't have asked, right? So I asked my brother, who owns a CTS-V. Here is what he had to say (and btw, his reference to a GM lemon is based on experience, I think this is his second one as he had numerous problems with the first):
"mine is now in the shop with $6000 worth of damage due to some unknown millionaire scumbag who hit it while it was parked at a soccer game and then ran away.
He can visit the CTS owners forum at www.cadillacforums.com if he wants to read the good, the bad, and the ugly.
I have a CTS-V...which has little more in common with a regular CTS than some body panels and some seats. Most everything else is different. The regular CTS is a common medium sized sport sedan; the CTS-V is a 4 door corvette.
It will suck in the snow unless he puts some good winter tires in the rear and about 100 pounds of lead shot or sand in the trunk. It's like any other rear wheel drive car. The sport package comes with slightly wider tires, which are worse in the snow than skinnies.
It's a good car (though not a great car and there are a lot of alternatives in that class of car)...he should be happy with it as long as he has a good dealer and didn't get stuck with a GM lemon (yeah they still make plenty of those)."

Avery that hurts. ouch! I have a truck for the snow but need an every day car to save on gas. I had 72 hours to cancel which I did as I got a better deal from a dealer that was much closer to me. My wife feels that both the Lincoln and the Caddy are nice but I think she might prefer the Lincoln. I just rather have both a Lincoln and a Caddy which I will now. Would you believe that Caddy gives you $2000 if you are a Lincoln owner. I believe Lincoln does the same. So I will be able to get a $1000 loyalty rebate plus a rebate because I own a car from the competitor.
BTW I had heard about the handling in the snow. My neighbor next door has had 1 for 4 years and just got another one. He claims there is no problem.

Don't shoot the messenger! Sorry I didn't "soft pedal" my brother's response... but the Cadillac owners site should be helpful. Anyway, if you don't need it for the snow then it shouldn't be that big a deal. We got a Volvo as our "gas saver," it is too small but it's not bad in a few inches of snow. And the mileage isn't great, must be I use the Turbo too much I still miss our Honda Accord, now THAT was a gas saver.

Cadillac or Lincoln
Big Frank - Did you get a quote on car insurance for the Cadillac and Lincoln
Just wondering how much your insurance will cost (for 3 vehicles) in New York
Have you considered renting one from The Hertz Prestige Collection
for a week or so to feel how it handles and to see how you like it.

Marty Insurance between the 2 cars were within $10 of each other. I pay about $2800 a year for top coverage.Timeshareforums Shirts and Mugs on sale now! http://www.cafepress.com/ts4ms
