  • Do you Groupon?

I signed up for "Groupon" and "LivingSocial" for a few cities that I thought I might visit in the next year.(I don't live anywhere near a featured city) So far I haven't found many deals that were of interest, because they are aimed mainly at residents, however there has been the occasional ones that have been of interest. (Today's for San Francisco was a wine tasting. )
Just wondering if anyone else subscribes and what success rate you have had.
Also, any other "deal" sites that you like? (Other than Priceline/Hotwire)

We used groupon for a half price Segway tour in Tempe and had a blast. They just offered a night time tour and we bought that one, too. We've talked about other offers but so far this is all we bought.

I have signed up for my 'location' but Long Island is VERY big - 110 miles long so chances are slim that anything near me will actually be offered. They did have half price bowling in the town where I work but that is not quite up my alley.

Segways are a blast. I would absolutely sign up for one if it was in a location that I was headin to!

        Was the wordplay intentional?

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Signed up for about a month, but I didn't find their offerings to be 'up my alley' either (Great one Pat). There were some food items or other items of interest, but they were a half hour away, I saw spa treatments and other things that did not interest me. Some of the items were good only that day, so not something I could do on a weekend when I could get there.

We have used groupon for our last three timeshare trips to New York, San Francisco, and Chicago (last week!). Signed up as soon as vacation was confirmed. Many Groupons aren't things visitors would use, but once a month or so, they are perfect for us. We have used Groupon for dinners, Grayline City Tours, sightseeing tours by boat, and the best one in Chicago last week, a sunset dinner cruise fron Navy Pier!

I use Groupon all the time

I live near Chicago and have bought several things from Groupon; restaurants and activities. I never really thought about using it for vacations, but that is a great idea! I will have to check out the cities they have. Thanks!

I signed up for it months ago.

Haven't seen a single thing that interests me and there is alot happening in my city, so not sure if this groupon thing hasn't gotten enough speed just yet.

It seems that they went nationwide in full force and are all over the place but not very strong where I live and obviously where you guys live too.

I wonder how they market their services? Seems like they should be focusing on a few cities and then grow from there. IMO anyway.

I used it once so far. DH and I each got a 1 hr hot stone massage for $40 each. Great buy!
DD bought a series of Zumba classes; very reasonable.
I keep looking, but haven't seen anything else I wanted to purchase. (I did see that bowling package Pat - good buy for bowlers).

I just got two $50 certs for $20 each at a local restaurant we go to quite a bit. I don't shop the site but the daily emails are often appealing.

I belonged for several months and didn't see anything of interest. Then 2 things popped up within a week. One was for Sturbridge Village and the other was for a tall ship sailing afternoon sail.

Ay yay yay. I have been a member about 4 days and already bought 3 deals. I think it is my new addiction. I bought deals for pizza, frozen yogurt, and today -- a hypnotherapy session. That would should be very interesting indeed.
