I haven't read all the posts, but Allegiant has been doing that from the git-go. Those who pay for prfe-assigned seats ($14 I believe) get to get on first.
Actually, if you are not impatient, it is much easier to wait until the very last, utnil everyone is done blocking the aisles getting their crap in the overhead bin, then get on.
Same thing getting off . . . either snatch and run or wait until the mess is over.
