Some of you know that my Mom passed away recently. OMG did she have Jewelry...some of it good stuff. Some of it REALLY good stuff. Some of it costume.

I'm keeping the REALLY good stuff and things that are meaningful, but that still leaves me with a boatload. I took a couple of pieces to 47th Street today...they offered me $1,000 and in less than 5 minutes were up to $2500. Needless to say, I didn't bite. However, I feel like I need a shower!

Anyone know of an honest jeweler. IS there such a thing?

See if your insurance company will recommend an appraiser. You might want to add a rider if what you have has a high value, anyway. It won't be free to have these items appraised but at least you will have a fighting chance to know you are getting a decent offer when you go to sell.
