  • Electrical Power Alarm

I am interested in getting an electrical power alarm. Something that would notify me if the electrical power went off in my house when I was out timesharing. Has anyone used something like this and if so did it work and what was it?

I believe they are called housesitters. For some folks (not us), neighbors.

You will not believe this, but we are having a thunderstorm right now, and as I was posting, our power went off.

      Never lost DSL.

I think JLB has it right, neighbors or family.
If you do loose power while away, and you know about it, what are you going to do about it? You end up calling a neighbor or family to do something, although I am not sure what.

I guess in my case, if it is going to freeze in the house I would like someone to take care of the orchids and drain the fish tank so it doesn't freeze and break. I turn off water before I leave on vacation, so those are the only things that would be of concern.
