    Pat,

Did you see this Orlando, Florida Trucking Companies - Transport Freight Shipping Service Companies

I don't fully understand how this company and that one fit together-but they have a truck with All American Van Line. Scroll down to the list of "A" cpmpany names.
    Maybe this helps?

Hmm, that's interesting. Thanks for the info. Seems that the MC # they list is the same that All American has on my quote. I don't quite understand what they do either. Maybe they pick up and deliver for All American?

How awful! Maybe BF can call them to come over to give him a quote, and he can have a few of 'da boys there to help persuade them to deliver your items!
Life is short, live it with this awareness.

Though a bit late here, here is a site to check out before moving:

Supposedly there was a fire that slowed things down - "But don't worry, even though the transport was totally destroyed, your stuff is fine." And then the driver disappeared. I don't remember what the excuse was after that. We got everything back except one box of books - all of which I've replaced except the Shirley Temple book my mother had when she was a teen.

So you're not the only one with experience who got caught. Hope it turns out okay and it's just a good horror story to tell your kids.

                  Update

Or maybe I should say non-update. Still no furniture!! I was away from 10/13-24. I gave the driver my neighbor's phone number because he PROMISED the stuff would be delivered while I was away. Called as soon as I got back and now it's maybe Saturday or Sunday.

Since I was in Orlando for part of my trip, I went to the address on the quote and sure enough it's a motel. No moving company anywhere around. When I called the office on Monday I asked where they were actually located. Told them I had been to the Orlando address and knew they weren't there. Woman put me on hold and then came back and gave me an address in Guttenberg, NJ. The pickup driver had told me he was on his way back to Guttenberg and that's also where the check was cashed.

After posting my complaint on movingscams.com, I got an email from an investigator at US DOT. He asked for any info/docs I might have since he thought he knew who might be running the scam. Owner has already been put out of business before under another company name. What a surprise!

I am still going to file complaints with the AG's in PA, NJ & FL and see if I can get the police to file a complaint also. I have little hope of ever getting any money back.

I know where Guttenberg is--in fact I used to live there. It's still pretty close to me, and it's a tiny town right on the Hudson River. PM me the address, Pat.

The address is 7000 Kennedy Blvd. East. If I still lived in PA I would have already paid a visit with a baseball bat in my hand!

Is there an apartment number? I used to live at 7100 Boulevard East. The formal name of that street is Kennedy Boulevard East. At 7000 Kennedy Boulevard East, which directly overlooks the Hudson, there is a huge apartment building with three towers called the Galaxy. The buildings share a common mall area, with a couple of restaurants, a mini-mart, a drugstore, a dry cleaners, a real estate office...and there MIGHT be a mover in there, but I think it's more likely that this is someone's residence. Some scammer's residence.

I think each of the buildings is a different street number, so 7000 might be just one tower, but that still doesn't narrow it down much.

No apartment #. They're probably not at that address either.

There are hundreds of apartments in that one building, so one of them could conceivably be living in there. But it would be next to impossible to find them....

Google map picture has a white truck in the driveway, maybe the furniture is in there.

Can you give a link to the pic? I suspect it's not the right place. Does it show a big apartment building?
