I don't know what you should do if any of these situations arises, but it would be a good idea to have a plan.

Have you tried calling the police in Orlando? Do you have an address or any info on the location? Your furniture is stolen goods at the moment, so if it's in a warehouse in Orlando, the police could seize it, couldn't they? Have you filed a police report?
The police situation is a tough one. Right now, I think the PA State Police would have jurisdiction but when I called a few weeks ago they weren't very interested. I'm going to wait until Monday before doing taking any further police action. I know that if I get the stuff before then, no PD will do anything. Have no clue where the stuff is in Orlando

I have the inventory sheet and contract. There are only 8 items so we're not talking about a lot of pieces. As long as the TV and recliner work and the glass top to the desk isn't broken, it'll be fine. The desk and cedar chest are old and scratched so I probably wouldn't be able to tell if there was damage unless it was quite significant.

        Delivery Today!

Driver called to tell me that he will be here between 5-6 today. We went over the inventory and when it came to the glass desk top he said it was broken! He said it was broken when he got it so it was thrown away since they didn't want to get cut. He told me the company will pay for it. I'm sure I will only get a few bucks. I bet the TV doesn't work when I get it either.

Hopefully the furniture willm be delivered today and this mess can be over. I have moved several times, once to and from a European country and never experienced the issues you have from this move.

Fingers and toes crossed! If your only (material) loss after all this is the glass desktop, I'm guessing you won't be too upset. I hope the TV is ok!

I think I misunderstood and thought the desk was broken. Hopefully if it was the glass top, the rest will be in good shape. Good luck.

He showed up a little after 6:00. My neighbors were with me and they had invited me to go out to dinner. We left right after the delivery. Sorry to keep you all in suspense.

The glass top is "missing". It was a separate piece from the desk. There is minor damage to a desk drawer, the TV stand and the cedar chest. TV works. The driver came alone in a Ryder truck. He told me that he worked with the guy who owns All American for 10 yrs when they both worked for another company. He said he was in NJ and the other company asked him if he wanted to take my stuff to SC. He was supposed to drop it off on the way to FL but they didn't tell him I wasn't going to be here until he had left. He says the other company owes him $3200. He is getting $300 for my job. Nice profit for the company since I paid $1100.

Now I have to file a claim for damage which will likely net me only a few $. I was not offered any insurance at time of pickup and I sure didn't read the contract. My bad. My home owners insurance has $1000 deductible so that won't be any help. Lesson well learned but now I'm happy I got my things. At least it's been an interesting story.

Wow, I'm thrilled! You must be glad to have a TV to watch and a desk to work at. Sorry for all the aggravation...

I'm glad that the stuff arrived.
Surprised that they didn't try to bill you for all the time it's been "in storage".
Sorry about the glass top and the dings, sad that the best I can say is 'at least you got your stuff'.

So, how does it feel to be HOME?

What a long drawn out saga - so glad it had a happy ending with most of your items surviving the trip. Unbelievable how this can happen but glad u posted so others can learn to be cautious.

I agree with Pat...this adventure of yours will heighten my caution in these situations. Glad your stuff finally arrived.
