Was on blood thinners because of right leg deep vein clots while touring Hawaii this summer. I couldn't convince anyone to let me stay on coumadin for life. Was taken off after six months.

I have had increasingly shortness of breath for two months, but blamed it on being overweight.
By the time the gang went to Magic Kingdom, I had it rough climbing the ramp for riding the monorail. Slowly made our way to the show at the castle. I couldn't keep up so went back to the condo. Rested all day and the next day too.

Was going with the rest to Animal Kingdom the next morning. While waiting for the women to primp, I gathered the trash and took it out to the dumpster. I came back in huffing and puffing. After the gang departed, I called for an ambulance to take me to the hospital.

Thankfully I was back to norm in 6 days.
Finished out our two week vacation in timeshare as an outpatient. Took Thanksgiving meal at crowded Golden Coral.

Have plenty to be thankful for!

I am now on coumadin for life.

I'm glad to hear you knew when to get help; too bad the first doctor(s) didn't listen to you.
I went through similar times with my mother last year. Her doctor ignored her obvious signs and told her she probably just had a little allergy or bronchitis. I took her to Mayo Clinic, where she spent 2 days on blood thinning IVs to break up the clots. She ended up having an IVC filter inserted below the heart and lungs to break up clots because of a bad reaction to blood thinners. She may need coumadin sometime in the future, but so far is doing much better. Sometimes we just need to trust our insticts and keep pushing the doctors til they believe we know our bodies. She's lost some weight since then and walks more (she's 81), and is feeling alot better. Good luck to you - watch those greens!

Scary!!! Glad things finally "settled down to a dull roar" for you so you could relax and enjoy the rest of your vacation with family and friends. Take care of yourself ~ and stop trying to scare people!!

Made it home OK and had my INR checked today. I'm doing fine, so they tell me.

I still think the oxygen level is low as I feel tired. No energy.

Feel like I need another vacation, but this time I'm packing up nothing. LOL

I am just getting back to reading this site.....sorry to hear of your health issues but glad to hear you are improving.
Yes, you probably do need another vacation after a sick one, I have been there and done that LOL. Thinking of you and sending positive thoughts!!!
