She is now off untill at least the next DR app in 2 weeks so she is getting over an extra week off
It's not a bad thing for you to be such a good hubby, but I do hope she starts feeling better soon!

On a tangential note, is the new XBOX like a Wii? Yes I think they call it the Kintect, Has a camera that watchs all your moves and knows who you are, It also shoots Pics as you are jumping and playing the game. Doc had a laugh and said she was there first new Xbox victim

eta: Frank, I have an aerobed you can borrow - let me know if you want it, I can get it to you tomorrow.
I have one just have to dig it out, May not need it after the next day she is learning how to get around.

I was horrible on crutches when I fell and injured my knee. It was going to be very dangerous for me. Borrowed a walker and it was so much easier! Yes, it made me feel old and feeble, but really helped my getting around...

Frank I have my walker if you want me to bring it down. Was much easier than crutches and I have a little basket for it so you can get stuff and still be able to get around.

Maybe, she did not want to go to a New Years party and this was the only
            way out.....just for fun...

My daughter broke her leg last year, we used the wheel chair,
            it was a life saver.

My family doctor adviced us to double the dose of Vit-D, Vit-C, Kalcium and Magnezium intake. Helps the body to heal faster?

Wishing her a quick recovery and Happy New Year to you both.

This conjures up a funny image...my MIL lives at a senor apartment and at their cafeteria at lunch or dinner you can see all the walkers lined up along the walls; it's kind of humorous.

Frank, hope your wife has a speedy recovery and you get some sleep!

Marge, that's what I had to do. I just couldn't do crutches. I was scared I'd fall and break my neck , along with my foot!!

Frank, Hope she gets the hang of those crutches , I sure couldn't. A walker is so much safer.!! You are such a good guy. Do you have a twin brother for me? Just kidding. I hope both of you get some rest and have a better New Year. Hugs, shaggy

                      Frank,
Sorry to hear about your wife's foot/ankle. After my break last year, anything like this makes me cringe. I hope she heals sooner rather than later. If she has a normally good sense of balance, perhaps she could use a knee walker. They are much easier to use than crutches (IF you have good balance). You can see them and read about them here: Knee Walker | Roll About | Knee Scooter . I wouldn't buy one until she tried one out at a local medical supply, though. And if she liked it, perhaps you could rent one if it is possible that they will give your wife a boot soon.

Best wishes to her. And sounds like a vacation for both of you should be in order once she is healed. Or maybe separate vacations, depends...

Ouch, sorry to hear about your wife. You can't use a walker if you are not allowed to put weight on your foot, can you? What did the Dr. say about that? Make sure she doesn't have the tops of the crutches pressing against her underarms since that can cause nerve damage. Thank you for being such a helpful hubby.

I'm sorry to hear about your wife's injury. Not a nice way to end the year. On a brighter note, 2011 will be much better! Hope she recovers quickly. It sounds like she is surrounded by a wonderful, loving family.

Yes you can. I did it for 7 weeks a couple of years ago. The walker made it bearable. You just can't carry a cup of coffee with crutches...
