  • Finding on sale K Cups

I just started using the Keirig a few weeks ago. It will end up being cheaper for us. Alot less donut shop runs and no more wasted coffee. But, I would like to buy the cups as cost effective as possible. So, I thought I would start this thread and people can post good prices they find.

    Here are my 2:
    1. Registered my new machine at Keirig.com and they send me a coupon for 2 free boxes when I purchase two boxes. Free Shipping iver $45.

    2. Kohls. 18 per box on sale for $9.99 (you need to put the item in your shopping cart to see the sale price). Combine that with my 20% off coupon and that is $7.99 per box. (all Kohls charge customers should have coupons from either 15-30% off to use now.) Very limited variety. Free Shipping over $75 or just stop by a store.

    Suggestions

As an avid Keurig user, I have a couple of suggestions.

For the most cost effective method, use your own coffee and the My K-Cup filter.

The best deals I usually see are at Costco which usually has a couple of varieties in 80 packs that run between $28 and $32.

Amazon sells 50 packs that are often a good deal.

Bed Bath and Beyond usually also has a large selection of K-Cups and with the 20% off coupons that are everywhere end up being a similar deal to Kohl's but with a much better selection.

I tried the my k-cup filter and thought it was too much of a hassle. How do you easily fill the cup with the coffee grounds and also how did you normally keep it clean?

Really only good for 1 cup.

Its really only easy to use if you are making a single cup. I take the filter and scoop the coffee right from the bag into the filter. I have found that I need a nearly full filter's worth of coffee to get the proper taste.

I agree the hassel is if you want to make a 2nd cup. You would either need to clean and dry the filter, or spoon the coffee into the filter which does make a bit of a mess.

I usually make a pot of coffee in the morning and use my Mr. Coffee machine since it is much more cost effective if you are a heavy coffee drinker like me.

However, in the afternoon, I'll use the Keurig to get a shot of coffee. Using the filter may be a good option.

If I was going to go to all that trouble, I would not have asked for a Keurig for the holidays.

I am still working through the holiday-gift cups. But, when I start needing to buy it, I plan to use Amazon's auto-ship, which AFAIK includes a small extra discount.

Great point! I guess my problem is when I'm going for that second cup. Probably not so bad if you wait until the grounds dry and can just dump them in the trash. Maybe I'll give it another shot. I need to cut my coffee to one cup a day anyhow.

Christmas tree shops....didn't even realize that - thanks!

I'm still searching for my favorite so I can buy it in bulk.

Last night I did purchase a couple ebay variety packs. They expensive - about .73 per cup. But, while I am searching for my favorite it makes sense. Don't want to buy a whole box and never drink it.
