No one has mentioned that there is a woot off today? I thought I would be late with this notice, but I guess some others have been unable to post the news this morning.

I don't think I needed to know that. Fortunately the first offering at winewoot was something I wasn't interested in, nor am I interested in the woot0off killing spice rubs that are currently being offered.

Actually I think I'm in pretty good shape right now; of all of their recent offerings I've bought almost everything I was truly interested in and still have plenty left.

So far I've succumbed only to the Copa del Rey Chilean Cab for $9/bottle with shipping. One of my kids likes Chilean cabs, so that's a drinker for when he's over.

Slow mover woot off this time. Lots of things that just sit. Now they are on the T-Shirts and that will go on nearly forever.

Guess 2-4 hours for the BOC.

On the drive home, I could feel my phone buzzing letting me know I was either getting an email or text message. I got home and sure enough, 'crappy' was on the woot site and I was too late.

In general I find woot, and by extenstion wootoffs, to be much less compelling than they were several years ago. I don't know if woot has changed or I have.

There used to be things that would show up and I would say to myself, "I can use that." Now my attitude is more like, "why do I need that?" So woot.com has pretty much faded away for me.

I do pay attention to wine.woot because I have found that to be an excellent source of juice; the community discussions there have been very helpful in deciding whether I want to buy something that is there. And, with rare exceptions, winedavid does a good job of ensuring that whatever shows up there is reasonably good quality; for me that reduces the equation to determining if this is a style I'm likely to enjoy and whether the price point works for me.

But even now during a woot-off, I see the same things offered that were there before. And if I didn't buy them before, why would I buy them now??? In the end it just becomes a second chance to buy something you passed on before, or to stock on something that you bought and really liked.

I used to stay up all night years ago for 2 nights, Now I do not care what they put up. I find most of there items are slightly cheaper but chances are I do not need it I just was buying cause I thought it was a good deal.
