There needs to be a way we can post when we are having a problem. I'm never sure if it is me or the site. I did check our FaceBook page, but it was a long time before I got an answer there.

    Nancy

ps. Could be overthere or Facebook or wherever, but some place anyone can check.

The best part of retirement is being able to do whatever you want and whenever you want. I often don't even know what day it is as they are all the same.

Where I come from we get breaks and lunches. My employer allows access to internet with appropriate usage. We still have sites which are not appropriate such as Facebook and other such social networking sites.

Guess when you become a big kid your employer trusts you to still get your work done. I realize that some people do not consider that to be "professional" however a good employer realizes that this is going to happen anyway.
Not a jab, just a comment. Thanks for the lecture. I am retired and owned my own business prior to retiring.

While I haven't been posting a lot lately, I do read every day, sometimes, several times a day.

Glad the site is up and running again.

Guess we come from different times. My apologies for the "lecture" was not meant to come off that way. We obviously come from different age groups.

I agree there are many industries and positions where being on the internet would not be appropriate at work. As long as you can manage your priorities and get done what needs to be done.

I had my own computer software design consulting business. We lived on our computers. We didn't have free time as we were always working as time was money. My lunch consisted of a sandwich in one hand while working with the other generally working 60+ hours/week. I also did a lot of the work at home. I loved my work so I enjoyed it immensely.

I can certainly relate to that kind of work. When working as a dispatcher it was constant go, go, go all day long. There were times where I would have two phones going, a line on hold and drivers at the window. There was no such thing as a lunch or other breaks. If there was any love for that job I would still be there, but the headaches were too much.

At work.... How about when you work 8 to 4 at the office then continue to work when arriving at home, then work over the weekends. Then get calls at 2:00am.

The boss can let a few things slide. In fact we are even encouraged within reason to use facebook and other social media sites. This is due to help spread the brand name in the social media kingdom. As for me I keep my social media, and my workplace separate.

If I check the 4MS a few times during the day who really cares! They pound the salt out of me anyway!

Yes, I understand. I own my own business and know how much responsibility it is to employ someone. You don't just employ an individual you take on their whole family. There are great rewards in knowing that you are helping that family to thrive but I also know how disappointing it is to find out that the worker is stealing from you.

When I couldn't access the site, I went to the FB page to see if there was any notice posted. Nothing was there. I don't like hanging out on FB while at work, so I never went back to check to see if anyone mentioned a problem.

I agree, I checked both OT and FB after my initial panic subsided.
I forgot until Nancy's post, that my techie son told me last time to go to
downforeveryone.com to see if it is just me!

Judging from the timeline in this thread, I think I probably tried to access this site right after it went down. I only checked the FB site in the morning. Next time (hopefully it won't happen again!) I'll make sure to check the FB page later in the day. Thanks. I didn't realize how much I missed TS4MS until I couldn't get on all day.

Thanks to all of you who keep this site up and running!!!
