    Still not fixed.

Because someone stole our CC identity, our account was closed.

Because our account was closed, and a new one not opened when our payment was due, I could not make the payment.

Because I could not make the payment, our new account was Past Due as soon as it was opened, when we received the new cards and called the number to open the account.

Because our new account was Past Due, a Late Fee was charged, and interest began running.

Because the minimum $15 payment (which I could never see had to be paid because our account online was blocked) was not made, our account was blocked.

Because our account was blocked, our RCI Elite Rewards redemption was blocked, Member Dollars not being credited to our RCI account.

Because I used existing RCI Member Dollars to combine deposits in order to have enough points to do an exchange, I did not have enough Member Dollars to purchase the exchange, and had to put it on Hold.

Because the Member Dollar redemption is blocked, and because our BOA account is blocked, I cannot purchase the exchange I have on Hold.

Today, RCI says BOA has to force the redemption credit, BOA says the third party administrator has to, and the third party says BOA has to.

All of this will likely be fixed by tomorrow, but the exchange will no longer be on Hold, unless RCI agrees to extend it.

Funny, sorta, that when something we want, when we want it, and at a fair exchange, finally comes along, this.

        That raises a point.

When someone &*%)$ with someone, either in person or as a psycho cyber stalker, when stuff happens to that person, like this, it does set you up as a person of interest.

Something got fixed today. Our Elite Rewards redemption made it to RCI, I got the exchange that was on Hold, and our new credit card is working.

Lesson for the day (week) . . . even in mean, big, ugly, unfriendly companies, there is at least one person who is not, and can straighten things out, if you persist to that point.

We even had one with Wastegate.

Perhaps it is because I discovered that early on, that we have survived so long with RCI.

It's happened again, same week we got our new card(s). This time it was used in California.

Since it was used so soon, that means there is a limited number of suspects, including someone at BOA, which I suggested to their fraud department.

Our favorite Florida restaurant is on our suspect list.

That and our favorite FL restaurant.

&, how would that explain the first time last June? BOA had not just issued a new card then.

Google credit card skimming, especially ipone credit card skimming.
                          - - - - - -
I just called BOA Fraud and asked that a PIN be required for the use of our card. The answer was:

"The people sitting across the street reading your information when you buy gas would be able to read your PIN, too."

I said, "So, there is no way to prevent skimming?"

He said, "Yes, they use it in the UK, but not here."

Yep, that's the "chip and pin" that the CS rep was talking about -- it is widely used in Europe now, and it is coming here eventually (I have seen at least one company starting to roll them out here). Those can't be skimmed (at least, not as easily).

From my personal experiences, I have seen a big increase of credit cards getting hacked within the last year. Two of ours got hit, and several of our friends have gotten hit recently as well. Seems like a whole lot more common as of late. Hopefully the chip and pin cards will be here sooner than later.

It may be a good time to go back to old fashioned cash.
