  • It's not just my bad spelling

I noticed that my laptop is making me spell worse than I normally do. Words like
    that gets spelled tat
    than '''''''''''''''''''''''''''tan
    have''''''''''''''''''''''''''''ave
    the'''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''te
Now it seems that my h does not always come out unless I type it hard. The H is not the only one that is causing me to look bad. I have trouble with e, t, n and a few others. In fact my n is now completely worn off te keyboard, it is now just a blank key.

    ........

I understand completely. I had been using an older keyboard that was doing the same thing. I had to press real hard on certain keys, or they they would stick. It was driving me crazy. Thank God my husband finally replaced it for me.

However, I still make spelling mistakes, especially when typing fast....

Frank why not buy a new keyboard and connect it to the laptop?

I'm just curious to see if spelling would improve at all.

            Frank, you're not alone.
I see so much incorrect spelling and/or usage all over.
These words in particular: their, they're, there - your, you're, -it's its, etc.
are the ones that make me cringe.
Also, folks just throw in apostrophes just for the hell of it. There seems to be a blurred line between the plurals, contractions and possessives.

I blame some of my more frustrating typos on my computers as well... My work laptop has a shifted keyboard and when I use my home laptop I have to remember to place my hands differently or all the letters with my left hand are one letter off...

Then again, I am a lousy speller as well so combine the two and I have major issues...

There are letters on the keys? I wore mine off a long, long time ago. Once Jerry suggested that I get those decals they have which replace worn off letters (many years ago, don't know if they still exsist). I wore those off too. Might be my nails...

Big Frank's spelling problems - I just have to post with my experiences.

Now, I used to be a generally smart bloke, kinda top 5 in the class, whatever the class.

The music gene and the spelling gene skipped me completely, my sisters got those and can play Chopsticks and even spell it all day long.

Me, I've been told to shut up when singing in the shower. As for spelling, I have learnt every word individually, there were no rules that I could understand to make it easier for me.

Still, many years of coping with this now, I'm a fair speller and can appreciate BF problems with his computer's spelling . As my son would say the computer is messing up.

I attach another keyboard to my laptop while working at the desk, it helps cut down on carpal tunnel symptoms. Doesn't do a darn thing for my spelig tho.

I have a rather faint "n" and "a" key on my desktop keyboard-just noticed them a few nights ago.

Just so you guys know. If I am out and post with my PC phone. It may look like a first grader wrote it( OK I will say it since I am sure some one else will, Yes it might be an improvment.) The keys and types are tiny and it is hard to navagate. After I type it I can not read it since the type is so small. I think Avery can understand what I am talking about since I sent her a PM with it that totaly had me guessing what I had writen when I saw it.

Well BF, if you just stopped using your Habanos to punch in letters, you'd do a helluva lot better. JMHO.

                            Frank,
You’re not alone. I am always asking for help when it comes to spelling. I may be the worst speller on this site.
