I was thinking about it. You can still order it as a back order. Not sure if you can still get the $359 price. I am waiting for the end of the season sale to pick up this one.

that's more of the size I'd like. Does Amazon do "end of the season sales?" Not that I can wait...

Of course I went through that charcoal/wood v. gas/electric thing for many years. The charcoal had to be Kingsford because only a total moron would waste their time and money trying to keep anything less burning.

Probably about ten years ago we switched to gas grills, and really don't notice the difference.

My BIL still insists on spending his day running back and forth from his wood smoker, checking the thermometer, and adding wood or dampening the fire to keep things at just the right temp. We have an electric smoker, with the water pan and wood chips. Jenny puts a slab of ribs or a brisket in and we head for the dock. She checks it once, maybe twice, in 8 hours and everything is great.

My BIL is reall bull-headed, but he likes our stuff and knows how little effort it takes.

When you all figure out what grill is best, let me know and I'll place an order for Orange Lake. Only the best will do. Then when we all go there we will find one in every lanai!

I'm sure you can get them to just get the bigger Weber. Only $1999 at Fortunoff. They have more expensive ones, but I think mid-range is probably fine with the HOA.

If you want it the grill is still in my cart at the $359 price. I can order it and have it delivered. I might even be able to have it delivered right to you.

they change te prices all the time. Not really an end of season sale. What I do if there is something I want. I place it in my cart , I have over 50 items in there that I am tracking. I go in my cart once a day and on the top of the page I will get an alert saying X item has decreased in price or X item has gone up in price. I also compare the prices of the item I am buying at www.nextag.com

Frank, thank you. I just read some "mixed" reviews about quality control. I am going to Lowe's if I can find it to look at the big JennAire. I don't want to spend that much but I am tired of burning through my grill guts every couple of years, and I really need a bigger grilling surface.

That sounds like permission to me, or close enough, and there are witnesses here, so I will order mid-range grills for OL, since that is probably fine with the HOA.

Ok, I ordered the JennAir but am now having buyer's remorse. I definitely have read too many reviews and the grill is made by NexGrill, which makes a lot of the ones I have seen at a variety of places; they apparently have iffy customer service. Plus the guy on line behind me was horrified when he heard what I was spending on a grill. He said "what is this world coming to," and "why don't you just go to Peter Luger's or Morton's?" And, "why grill at all, it probably won't even taste grilled, just cook in your house." I must admit, this last one has me thinking, since there are no "flavorizer" bars (what are those, anyway?) and there's no place to put the nifty flattish fake "briquettes" we are used to using.... I have until next Saturday to cancel.

                        Avery,
I just bought one due to the lifetime warranty on the burners...( my burners always burned out) I've only had it for about 3 wks now, but I can tell you we love it. I know what has been said about the customer service, but they just contracted with someone else and from what I have read, the customer service isn't an issue anymore.

I originally went to the store and bought it one night before I came home from work...my husband wasn't too thrilled with the purchase, it was alot of money, but after cooking on it, he loves it!

now if I could just learn how to rotisserie chicken without burning it, I would be all set!

That is encouraging (except for the burnt rotisserie part), thanks! I wasn't even going to buy the rotisserie attachment, but it's tempting with that rotisserie burner in the back....

There is a Jen Air store located in Wantagh. I forgot to mention that there is a really nice BBQ store on Jericho Turnpike. They carry all types and some real nice high end ones as well. It is near New Hyde park, I will look for the address and post it here. I think it was called Heath and Heart but I will double check it.

The place near New Hyde park is called Taylors Hearth and Leisure. They do have 2 locations.
http://www.taylorsfireplaces.com/bbq/ They carry Pro Chef which IMO is one of the best out there. My BIL bought a Pro Chef from there 10 years ago and it is still like new. He has never had any trouble with it. The Pro chef comes with brass burners.

The place in Wantagh is caled Jetmore. They carry much more than what is listed on there website.
