My our court system never degrade to the point we hang someone because we think a person might be guilty because of how it was edited by media for mass appeal.

Thankfully we don't commit people on uninformed popular opinion. If I'm ever on a jury, that is when I expect my opinion to matter. Until then I don't worry about it. More children die every day from starvation and preventable illness - and all of us can do something about that.No one can be exactly like me. Even I have trouble doing it. - T. Bankhead

What a difference half a day makes.
Last night one of the talking heads earning a living from this tragedy almost teared up talking about how American this whole thing was. It being the 4th of July, the Courthouse being opened for the first time ever on a holiday, the jury deliberating. The talking head said Casey got great representation, the prosecution presented a great case and a strong closing argument, and now the greatest system of justice in the world was at work.
Now, half a day later, the disappointment in that system by the same talking heads is palpable.

Probably Not
I think you would have to be sane to be haunted by a memory, but maybe not.

Jury
The jury system in this country is flawed and nobody wants to admit it. The 6th amendment allows a person to be tried by a jury or a judge. Times have changed and it now takes longer to select a jury than a whole trial took back then. The selection of a jury has become a cottage industry. In major capital murder trials, the juries are confused tremendously by the defense attorneys. I can guarantee you in the Casey Anthony trial they had no idea what reasonable doubt meant. Defense attorney 101 is to make the juries believe any doubt is reasonable doubt and that is not true. Everyone knows about the OJ trial and this one, however, guilty murders are being released every year because of the jury system. The solution is to only let judges rule in capital murder offenses. They know the law and understand the defense tricks better than anyone. Society as a whole will benefit from this change.
