  • Have you tried Groupon Now?

Groupon has a new thing (at least in my area) called Groupon Now. It is based on short time sales or 'I want it now' items. They have eight categories: Eat something, Get pampered, Go out, Go shopping, Have fun, Exercises, Take care of my car, Take care of myself.

When you go to the groupon site, I find the groupon now to the right side of the current deal.

Today, we are going to a wine tasting (bought on Travelzoo local). On the way to the tasting, we are stopping for lunch at a place found on Groupon Now, picking up some chocolates found on Groupon Now. We are having a whole afternoon (lunch, wine and chocolates) at half price.

Next week, for our 12 year anniversary, we are going to a 3 course dinner served with a bottle of wine. I picked up that deal on Travelzoo local. Happy Anniversary wife at half price.

Great idea. I am looking forward to trying out, once I get somewhere that has it!

As an avid Groupon purchaser, I need to do this. I get Groupon e-mails for 5 or 6 places daily. I am trying to figure out how to utilize the FatWallet angle. Read the Groupon e-mails as usual - then if there is something I want to purchase, sign in through FatWallet? Or is there an easier way?

            Several months ago

We have used both Travelzoo and Groupon starting several months ago. At first I thought that these were just going to be ripoffs or have such strict requirements that they would not be able to be used. Well, since we started we have used Groupon 6 times and Travelzoo once. Both are great and straight forward.

That Travelzoo local deal that we used was amazing. From the coupon deal, were signed up to get 10 tastings, 2 glasses of wine plus a bottle of wine. We ended up getting 12 tastings (6 each), plus a glass of wine each that was supposed to have come from that tasting list, but the one we wanted had been sold out, so we were able to get something similar from next weeks tasting list. They also gave us a $20 bottle of 2003 David Frost Cab. They call it a $60 deal, we got all that for $25 and at that price and the service that we got, I felt like I was stealing from them. We did buy two bottles of a wonderful muscato but wanted the Amrita.

That sounds like an excellent deal for $25!

As an avid Grouponer (is that a word yet?) this has not yet been in my area. My expectation is that perhaps it will be in Toronto which is one that I check so hopefully it will be there.

We go to Seattle in a few weeks. They have the Groupon Now feature. I've looked a few times just to see what was on offer and there were a few things we would have done (Segway in particular - I did buy a deal for that already thru regular Groupon)) so I am hopping some good deals will pop when we are there.

I have become an avid groupon user.

There was a half price coupon for the Catalina Flyer from Newport Beach which was a great deal. Our friends alerted us as they were going.

Orange County Deal of the Day

I hope that they will repeat it because it is a nice trip to take when you are on vacation here. I saw another boat ride too for a dolphin or whale watching tour from the same area. All very nice trips.

Arggh. I have been watching Seattle and missed the Segway one. Do you by chance know what date you purchased it? I want to try and see if it was my "featured" offer.

I am definitely addicted to these offers, but have to come up with a better organizational system for them.

It is funny you mention this, as I have been considering discussing with a couple of friends of mine an "amalgamation" type site which shows deals from all the group buying sites and wondered what other people thought of such an idea. Not being a programmer myself, it is something that I could not do alone, but several of my friends are programmers and have done website design before.

I bought the Segway deal on June 16th.

FYI, I also bought the Smith Tower Observation Deck deal on May 3rd.

I also bought deals for cupcakes and Oh! Chocolate as wells as an electric boat tour (drive your own boat) on Lake Union for Seattle. It's saving me quite a few $$ for stuff we'd want anyway. Ok, don't need the chocolates or cupcakes but we'd buy some type of sweet treats during our stay so why not these .

                              I LOVE Groupon
