  • What's Your Favorite Pizza?

I've tried a lot of pizza from a lot of different places and we know some people who just rave over all kinds of fancy, and expensive, gourmet pizzas.

My favorite is Mama Lacona's, in Des Moines, IA. It's not inexpensive and it's impossible to explain why I like it, other than it is yummy and is exactly the same as the first time I had it 45 years ago. I used to splurge with my paper route/night crawler/pop bottle/coat hanger/lawn mowing/snow shoveling/weed pulling/vegetables money and have one delivered every now and then.

With tip it was a buck.

Jenny agrees that it is great.

When it's not available, which is like all the time now, our favorite is Pizza Hut. And our favorite there is the original thin crust pork topping and mushroom, which also tastes exactly the same wherever you go and as beaucoup years ago.

Our second favorite and the one we order most often is Pan Supreme with no green peppers. Hand tossed is OK too.

    How about you?

Upside down Sicilian from Rosa's pizza is the best. The regular Slice pizza is great from Carruana now Joey's pizza. They put sesame seeds on the crust. Both places are located on 69th street and grand ave in Maspeth, NY

          All pizza is good pizza

Being in NY, there are lots of different types of pizza, all excellent.

In my view the best are:

Pepe's in New Haven (there is nothing better than a white clam pizza after waiting an hour and a half outside to be seated)
          Grimaldi's - Brooklyn
John's pizza on Bleecker (The one on 44th is fine too, but doesn't have the character of Greenwich Village)

and for the best NY pizza Sbarro's (just kidding. fans of the TV show The Office should get it)

            Buffalo Pizza

The Pizza in Buffalo, NY is the best in the world.
Santora's, Jacobi's, Uno's but the best of the best is Bocce Club. If you're ever in Buffalo find it and tell me if I'm right.
Pizza is my all time favorite food. I had two slices before reading this forum.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

We had one for lunch today, while driving around, which prompted this thread.

We moved here to Ocala two years ago, and had a heck of a time finding good pizza...then someone told us about the Big Apple restaurant, and we've got our pizza. We also found really good barbecue, but haven't yet discovered really good chinese...

Pepe's of New Haven is better than Mama Lacona's of Des Moines. Back a while there was a wood oven place just behind Pepe's called the Spot than made the best pizza I ever had. There was a Pizza buffet about 8 years ago in Atlantic Beach, NC that I overate at- must have had at least 20 different slices including chocolate pizza (eat you heart out, girls).

Pizza by the slice at any corner pizza place in NYC, there's nothing like it in the Bay area. I actually feel sorry sometimes for my kids, who are growing up thinking Round Table is the norm.

                            Yum

I may be pretty new to the whole timeshare thing, but pizza is my passion.

Lawren, Mountain House is good, but I am more of a Nanuet Hotel fan.

Believe it or not, SW MO/NW AR has a large Asian population.

I bet there are more Chinese restaurants per capita in Springfield, MO, than anywhere else, maybe even China.

Chinese buffets are a big thing. A lot of the little towns have them, too. Some little towns have more than one. The specialty is cashew chicken, the deep-fried variety, although there are many other dishes.

I know I sound like a glutton, but there is an excellent Chinese buffet in Nixa, MO, with probably 100 feet of food, salads, seafood, chinese, American (steaks on Friday), and desserts, for $5.99.
