When the transformer blew on our street a few years ago, our power was out for 2 days and 21 hours. We have well water, so no water either. Not a fun time--it was like a visit to Melvin's past.
I feel for you guys. Everytime we get a hurricane we go thru this. It's awful. I've stopped buying big meat purchases in the summers here cause one year during Hurricane Andrew we lost power for 2 weeks and lost about $300 worth of meats. We had a big block party BBQ but we had to eat everything, couldn't save it.
I was driving by a bank thermometer today thinking of how the news said it's 108 in NYC and it was only 91 here in Hollywood beach. Maybe you guys should come on down. For a change it's cooler here than up there and we've got a nice little seabreeze. Very unseasonally cool for July.
Not sure if anyone saw it but my block was on Sunday NBC news at 6 and 11 pm. Yes i was on but did not want to speak You could see my house as well. Funny it aired last night and today they repaired the transformer.
